Mother Theresa said, “If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way”. I interpreted that as, whatever it is that I achieve, I will talk about it if I want to. I’ll give myself that gratitude. Whenever I achieve something cool, I want to talk about it because that’s one way to convince myself that I deserve it, but my intuition downplays it. If I cannot downplay it, I downplay myself. Because it always feels like “if it were such a big deal, it wouldn’t be yours to achieve anyway” I know, it’s reverse imposter syndrome😬 Last month, I earned a beginner's certificate. Excitedly, I shared it on LinkedIn, but the doubts crept in. "Why make a big deal out of it?" I wondered. So, I deleted the post. But you know what? I had an epiphany. I realized that if I kept living in fear, I would never truly start my journey toward greatness, although, not so much has changed since then 🤦. When I got accepted into the Women Techsters Boot Camp, those pesky thoughts resurfaced. "Why bother posting about it? Others are already way ahead.” But this time, I decided to defy those thoughts. I am aware that every step forward matters, no matter how small. Thank you Aanuoluwa Sanya I mustered the courage to share my excitement, embrace my progress, and inspire others along the way. Thank you Tech4Dev for this amazing opportunity to be a part of this cohort. And for as many of us who feel this way, I just wanted to take a moment to remind you of how amazing you are. I know that battling Imposter Syndrome can be tough, but I want you to know that you're not alone. We all have moments of self-doubt, but that doesn't define who we are or what we're capable of. You have accomplished so much, and your unique skills and perspective are invaluable. So, let's celebrate our achievements, big or small, and keep pushing forward.
