What could you possibly do with OCI Containers on a mission-critical RTOS platform? Well, a lot more than you might think, even though it's not about running Traefik and Node.js on VxWorks. Wind River Principal Technologist Rob Woolley answerd many questions about #VxWorks containers at the Wind River blog, check it out at: http://ow.ly/VyUK104OUJ1 #embedded #wearewindriver

In this series on the advantages of the simple "superloop" scheduler, Nathan Jones dives deep to show us several ways to improve the superloop to bring its performance nearly on par with an RTOS. He notes that "a program like Tracealyzer from Percepio to determine the execution time of each task" is also an option. We like that too. 😉 From Embedded Related: https://lnkd.in/g-AGX2zf #Superloop #RTOS #PercepioTracealyzer #VisualTrace

The key for an RTOS running on a multicore platform, is to ensure that the length of the highest priority interrupt handler cannot grow with the number of cores:Interrupt handlers should not spin waiting on potentially every other core, nor should they iterate through them.

One orchestration framework for Linux and your certified realtime workloads.
As the industry’s most widely deployed real-time operating system, it’s important for Wind River #VxWorks to stay ahead of the curve. That’s why VxWorks is the first and only RTOS to support application deployment through container technology. Read on at our blog about 5 ways containers are powering the latest advancements in automotive software: https://lnkd.in/e86EayfS #SoftwareDefinedVehicle #SDV

Warning - technical content ahead.... If you are developing digitally controlled power electronic systems using the C2000 processor family from Texas Instruments, take a look at their sysconfig tool. If you haven't used this before, it is a great way to get the basics of your code framework up and running with peripherals configured how you like very quickly. It has a GUI to aid peripheral setup including software elements such as RTOS, logging, DSP functions etc. The GUI then sets up all the initialisation code so you get to focus on building your application code far sooner. Thanks also to the folks at the E2E forum for helping me to understand how to name peripherals correctly in the tool to ensure it does what we want - great support! #digitalpower #powerelectronics #netzero
