Thank you Nicola Mendelsohn CBE for the chat. We marketers like to package and position everything we do as strategic and deliberate….hah! That isn’t just unrealistic, it’s boring! I am pretty sure my ratio of strategic to opportunistic is 1:2

This was a first, for everyone. Never before had a dragon wrapped itself on top of the Empire State Building. And, this was just the beginning! Similar activations across NYC, the US and the world. With a blend of real and CGI, House of The Dragon fans found their world blend with their favorite show to get ready for the feud that unfolds in season 2. I love being in marketing. But I love even more to be surrounded by people who make stuff like this happen. Hats off to the incredible team under Zach Enterlin and Pia Chaozon Barlow was creative enough to imagine it, bold enough to chase it and driven enough to make it happen. Oh…and you haven’t watched the 1st episode yet, what are you waiting for??

Last year, we made the decision to drop HBO from the name of our new streaming service, Max. Some understood the why, others did not agree with it. Regardless, here is the rationale. I am sharing in hopes that it provides other marketers a business case to debate the right framework to make nuanced and consequential decisions like this one. Today we not only launched Barbie on Max (and turned it pink too!) but we launched it with ASL as a first for us! Sometimes you don’t need a bunch of research or data to just do the right thing. This was driven by someone’s passion and supported by the entire team.

A few weeks ago one of my mentors Mike Linton gave me an opportunity to share a bit about my job. I may have done the talking but it’s people like Mike that gave me the lessons in the first place. Thank you. I know you’ve been foundational to me bc I still get nervous around you!

Last week was a big week for us at WBD Streaming. It was the culmination of months of work from so many talented people and in many ways, the beginning of a new chapter. We are lucky people to do what we do and I am so grateful to be part of this team. Wohoo!!

This company (Overture) and this group is foundational for me. Twenty years later, it's still clear why - a smart, driven, human and ego less group of people who were on a mission to do great things by investing in its people. They set the example I still try to follow to this day.

Well, that was fun! Shared rights on a lot of the content, challenging time zone differences and, oh yeah - a pandemic, and still the team rocked it! Congrats to Mike Cairncross, Sophie Long Pier luigi Spagna and the entire crew that made this happen!!
