Okay, that alone doesn't help much, but we'd like to hire a consultant with Kafka at the enterprise-level experience. We need someone who has: Led and implemented Kafka projects at a large scale, with hundreds or thousands of topics and millions or even billions of events per day. Small-scale stuff isn't helpful to us. Experience with Kafka configuration and optimization. This person needs to know the ins and outs of Kafka configuration at a large scale for optimal performance. Extensive experience in setting up and running Kafka connectors. Hands-on experience with CDC is a must. Extensive, hands-on relational database or data warehousing experience. Our connectors will have RDBMS as their source and also be used as a sink. Hands-on experience with Kafka best practices. We need an opinionated person who can speak with authority, yet someone with exemplary soft skills. This will be a position to train WEX employees and lead them by example. I can't emphasize enough the importance of soft skills. This person must check their ego at the door and take pride in owning results. Experience with monitoring large clusters. Help us set up meaningful metrics for monitoring and alerting. Someone who knows observability extremely well. This is a great opportunity to train our SREs. Someone with extensive Java experience. Someone with outstanding communication skills. Apache Flink experience is a nice to have. Experience with Kafka as SaaS is helpful (Confluent, Aiven). We use Aiven. GitOps experience is a huge plus. Networking and AWS experience is also a huge plus. Kubernetes knowledge is also a plus.

We are looking for a Database Administrator Experience- 5 to10year Location - Remote Timing - 8 am to 5:30 pm (Break included) Greek time zone 10:30 am to 8 pm IST ● Designing the database schema, tables, relationships, and other structural components of the database. ● Ensuring that the database is secure from unauthorized access, and that sensitive data is protected from theft, hacking, or other security breaches. ● Monitoring database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or other issues that may impact performance. ● Ensuring that the database is regularly backed up and that recovery procedures are in place in the event of a disaster or system failure. ● Ensuring that the data stored in the database is accurate and consistent, and that any errors or inconsistencies are identified and corrected. ● Providing data exports, reports for customer/operational support ● Anticipating future growth of the database system and plan for increased storage capacity, processing power, and other resources as needed. ● Performing regular maintenance tasks, such as database optimization, indexing, and archiving. ● Managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights to the database. ● Identifying and resolving any issues that arise with the database system, including system crashes, data corruption, and other problems. Skills ● At least 5 years experience in Database Administration. ● Strong experience and knowledge of database administration and management for MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL. This includes understanding of database architecture, schema design, and query optimization, as well as proficiency in configuring, monitoring, and maintaining databases. ● Strong knowledge of scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, and SQL, as well as experience with automation frameworks such as Ansible or Puppet. ● Experience with setting up and managing replication and high availability solutions for MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL databases, including configuring and managing backup and recovery strategies. ● Ability to identify and troubleshoot instance-level performance issues, slow queries, and replication lag, and optimize databases for maximum performance and scalability. ● Experience with automating database deployments, managing database versions, and deploying database changes in a scalable and consistent manner. ● Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus, and setting up alerting mechanisms for database performance, replication, and other critical metrics. ● Understanding of database security best practices, including user access controls, encryption, and compliance requirements such as GDPR. ● Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and security teams. #databaseadministrator #dba #remotehiring
