Great news! GSK (LSE/NYSE: GSK) has made AREXVY (Respiratory Syncytial Virus Vaccine, Adjuvanted) available at major retail pharmacies in the US. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommended a single dose of this vaccine for individuals aged 60 and older, empowering patients to decide with their healthcare providers if it's suitable for them. AREXVY is designed to prevent RSV-lower respiratory tract disease in this age group. For Medicare Part D patients, there are no out-of-pocket expenses under the Inflation Reduction Act. Commercially insured patients may have coverage with no cost when administered in-network, so it's advisable to check with your doctor or pharmacist. RSV is a significant concern for older adults, and this vaccine offers hope in reducing its impact on public health. #Healthcare #Vaccine #RSV #GSK #VaccinesSaveLives

Vaccine-preventable diseases pose a significant public health burden, yet even in the most developed regions adult vaccine spend is less than 2% of total pharmaceutical expenditure. Adult immunization coverage is sub-optimal and has further declined since the pandemic, even though improving adult vaccination rates are critical to: ✔️ reduce disease-associated outcomes ✔️ improve health and prevent premature death ✔️ reduce healthcare costs ✔️ relieve pressure on hospitals To find out more about the current Trends in Global Adult Vaccination: Impact of COVID-19 download IQVIA Institute’s report https://bit.ly/45MzkrH #vaccines #COVID19 #adultvaccinations #pharmaceutical

We are pleased to share that the peer reviewed quarterly Journal for Pharmacovigilance and Drug Research have recently published an article titled ‘Knowledge, attitude, and practices regarding reporting of Adverse Events following immunization (AEFI) among healthcare professionals’ which was co-authored by our very own Dr. Akash Gadgade. Vaccines enhance immunity, yet AEFI challenge public trust and immunization coverage by impacting safety perceptions. Following a cross-sectional study this paper evaluates AEFI reporting awareness post-routine immunization. Drugmakers anticipate putting a dent soon in the country's shortage of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine, with 230,000 more infant doses being readied for distribution by mid-January. Pediatricians, hospitals, and parents have struggled for months to get protection for their babies due to what manufacturer Sanofi has characterized as "unprecedented demand" for the new immunization that was only approved late this summer. By mid-October, manufacturers had already depleted their supply of 100-mg doses, prompting CDC to recommend prioritizing vaccination of high-risk infants. Despite the release of 77,000 additional doses in November, the shortage has persisted as RSV nears its peak. https://lnkd.in/e4_mipHs #rsv #pharmacyinthenews #vaccines

🌟 Vaccine Reporting: Key Codes for RCM Pros For accurate reimbursement, it's vital to know the pediatric immunization codes 90460 & 90461. - 90460: For the first vaccine component, includes counseling, for patients under 18. - 90461: Add-on for each extra component, reported with 90460. 👩⚕ Coding Tip: Without counseling, use 90471-90474 instead. Remember to bill vaccines separately. EXAMPLE An 11-year-old gets HPV and Tdap with counseling. - Bill 90651, 90715 for vaccines. - Use 90460*2 for each first component and 90461*2 for additional ones (90715 shows 3 components., added the first component in 90460 and the other 2 in 90461) Above all, if in doubt, check your SOPs, guidelines, AI tools, and verify till you're 100% sure. Accurate coding is crucial for reimbursement and public health. Stay updated on best practices! 💪💉 #Healthcare #revenuecyclemanagement #medicalbilling
