One little basic reminder for experienced job applicants that just came to me while discussing a (otherwise superb) CV with a qualified accountant. Present your career with most recent roles at the top. Recruiters and hiring managers can often glance very briefly at a CV. I gained tonnes and enjoyed my time in retail and pubs but if I apply for a Recruitment job requiring experience I don’t necessarily want Sandwich Artist to be the first one they see (avoid the tuna). Or Paperboy. Likewise newly qualified accountants applying for a Finance Manager post, don’t want hirers to read Accounts Assistant and assume that is your current role.

5 KEY STAFF A GROWING BUSINESS SHOULD HAVE From my experience, there are five key staff that every growing business should have: 1. The Coordinator This person plays the role of your number 2. He or she makes sure that, apart from you, everything that needs to get done gets done. 2. The Production/Service Lead This person ensures that whatever needs to be manufactured, made, or produced gets done. For example, in a bakery, the person would be the head baker. In a consulting firm, the person will be the head consultant. The production or service lead ensures that your products or services are prepared and delivered appropriately. 3. The Sales and Marketing Lead Some big businesses separate sales from marketing, and it's great. The idea behind acquiring a sales and marketing lead is to ensure that somebody champions your sales and marketing activities. 4. The Finance Lead This person could be the accountant, financial officer, etc. The role of the finance lead is to keep an eye on your numbers. 5. The Admin/HR Lead Some businesses may separate administration from human resources (HR). The function of the admin/HR lead is to manage the human and material resources in your business.
