Digital Forensics and Threat Intelligence Analyst | Criminal Justice (hon) Graduate | CyberGirl 3.0 Fellow | Research Assistant
Why cybersecurity? To understand why I decided to pursue a career in cybersecurity, we must go back to my undergraduate years. I recall sitting in one of my crime investigation modules while covering emerging crimes. We discussed organized crime, financial crime, human trafficking, and other issues. I'm always up for a good challenge, so I was immediately drawn to financial crimes. To me this wasn't just about assisting in the capture of criminals; I was more excited about the prospect of being in a new environment. I never wanted to work in a field where I could do things off the top of my head hence, I was drawn to financial investigations because I didn't know what to expect. After conducting research on my new interest, I discovered how cybercrimes was becoming a tool used by criminals to commit financial crimes, and I decided to combine the two. What I love most about my career choice is that it is ever evolving, which will keep me on my toes. Davely Rhode thank you for always being ready to set up a meeting to listen to my passions, fears and saying the right words to pique my interest. To CyberSafe Foundation, the technical and soft skills, cybersisters who will share and push you to be the best (sometimes I forget I have never really met these girls 😂 ), an excellent mentor who is an email, text away even after she has completed her hours (Ooreofeoluwa Koyejo), a cyber mother with unwavering belief in my potential (Confidence Staveley) all of these is thanks to you. I will never have a success story that does not include you. Thank you very much! #cybersecurity #cybergirls3.0 #digitalforensics #threatintelligence

SCHOLARSHIPS IN CYBER SECURITY According to a report by Cybersecurity Ventures, the number of unfilled cybersecurity jobs grew from 1 million positions in 2013 to 3.5 million in 2021. A lot of these roles are still yet to be filled because of a lack of talent. Yet, predictions show that there would be the same number of openings in 2025. This is why we have partnered with Cisco to train 10,000 African youths and help them build careers in Cybersecurity https://lnkd.in/eKA2itNR

📢 Live from PrivSec North, Manchester: The Future of Cyber Security is Neurodiverse Philip Wright CDPSE, CISM: I love taking in interns into a company for them to grow however, there has to be that base of knowledge, which is where education needs to be worked on. Education is key to understand more on neurodiversity and teach kids probably on understanding neurodiversity Lee M.: The fact is based on the number of jobs most of the organisations are choosing to ignore neurodiversity, I'm very focused and good at problem solving. Limited jobs and trying to squeeze in a way to find someone who is skilled at the job is the challenge amongst HR these days. Felicia A. Omoediale Samuel MSc CRISC: Rather than mapping to specific things, understand where a person thinks. Where we are lazy is finding where strength lies, the work is not to fix a person to a certain type but to utilise the skills they already have. 'Recruit for the people and train for skills.' We have a final few spaces available - don't delay and secure your space now! 👉 Book a last minute seat at PrivSec North here: https://lnkd.in/enGXC4bh #PrivSecNorth #PrivSec #Privacy #Security #DataProtection
