In today's fast-paced environment, understanding the importance of mental fitness alongside physical health is crucial. It directly affects our productivity, creativity, and general well-being. I'm proud to be part of the Talk Club team, which focuses on the vital connection between mental wellness and workplace culture. Our goal is more than starting conversations; it's about building lasting solutions and environments where employees can flourish. During this Mental Fitness Month, we’re spotlighting the significance of mental health at TalkClub. We're working with businesses to create supportive workplaces where everyone feels valued and heard. Improving mental health is a shared journey. At TalkClub, we're committed to making real changes and leading the way in breaking down the stigma around mental health issues. We envision a future where taking a day off for mental health is as normalized as taking one for physical health, emphasizing that mental fitness is essential, not just an option. #MentalFitnessMonth #MentalHealthMatters #WorkplaceWellbeing #TalkClub Let's work together towards a shift in how mental health is viewed and make every month a time to focus on our mental fitness.
May is Talk Club Mental Fitness Month, a month of raising numbers for men across the UK through events that start real conversations and vital fundraising for men everywhere to become mentally fit. With May being one of the worst months for male suicides, every penny raised will enable the charity to help communities, from setting up more clubs to putting men through Talk Club therapy. So join us. Whatever you're into. From comedy, parties & VW cruising to runs, cricket & a yoga dad’s retreat! All alongside our regular Talking Groups. ➡ Head to the Talk Club website to see how you can get involved. https://talkclub.org/mfm/ We're also working with businesses with positive & preventative offerings that build mental fitness for everyone in the workplace. So the important conversations might be turning up in an office near you! ➡ DM me or email business@talkclub.com for more info. And very well done to the team at Talk Club HQ for making this happen Ben Akers Gavin Thorpe Steve Barnard Neil Harrison ben Fernihough Nick Forsberg #mentalfitnessmonth #howareyououtof10 #talkclub

CEO, Netcelero - leading a team of expert engineers delivering simple solutions to complex networking problems ⚙️
I took up running after becoming a parent, primarily to stay in shape, but perhaps more so to escape the confines of the house. For the past decade, I've been hitting the pavement with my running partner almost every week. During these runs, we discuss it all...work, family, even the meaning of life. Our fitness levels have fluctuated over the years, with some periods dedicated to long distances and others where a 3km lap around the park felt like an accomplishment. Nevertheless, our Sunday run holds a significant place often serving as a source of sanity. My motivation for running stems from the sheer gratitude of having a body that allows me to run, unlike those less fortunate. Running not only clears my mind but also alleviates stress, provides perspective, and helps me think through any nagging issues. It's like hitting the reset button. A few months ago, I stumbled upon a new local park run. I've never been concerned about my running time. Last week, I achieved a personal best at the Park Run. However, the number on the stopwatch didn't matter much. What truly counted was my commitment to being part of ParkRun.. this incredible, uplifting, and cost-free global phenomenon. I witnessed the dedication of numerous volunteers, felt a strong sense of community, and experienced a mental cleansing after a busy week, all while my body performed admirably. This World Mental Health Day, ASICS EMEA is redefining a ‘personal best’ to celebrate how exercise makes us feel. They want to create a more welcoming exercise culture. No stats. No times. No numbers. Simply the mental uplift of exercise captured and celebrated. So, join in and share how exercise makes you feel. Every hashtag #NewPersonalBest shared will raise funds for mental health charities. #NewPersonalBest #MentalHealth #SoundMindSoundBody #WorldMentalHealthDay #asics

Hoping to help older family members get more active? Personal Training, senior center fitness classes, and silver sneakers classes at gyms are all great options. But sometimes they just need something simple to try, to dip their toes in the water of fitness for 10 min at a time. Here are some free videos. As always, I suggest trying a routine yourself *before* recommending it to a parent or grandparent. #fitness #wellness #activeaging https://lnkd.in/emcgyGFz

Empowering purpose-driven leaders and coaches to harness their stories, build impactful businesses, and drive community-oriented, sustainable change.
Word on the treadmill is that 63% of gym memberships go completely unused. No surprises there, I'm sure. This means that a significant number of people are spending money each month on memberships they don’t use, contributing to financial waste and missed opportunities for personal growth. Have you signed up for a gym membership this year with the best of intentions? Well, it's June 1st... Ja. "Just think of all that energy that’s expended in them—surely it could be put to better use? Well, that’s the thought behind a burgeoning fitness movement in Britain, which combines exercise with volunteering. Pioneered by the charity GoodGym, the concept now has academic backing after a study showed participants experience a massive boost in life satisfaction" Positive News Instead of paying for a gym membership that you might not use, why not consider an alternative that combines fitness with community service? [I am not being paid for this plug, by the way!!...] GoodGym enables you to get fit while helping others... can replace the monotony of the treadmill with meaningful activities such as running errands for the elderly or participating in community projects - keeping you physically active AND fostering a sense of purpose and connection. Similarly, investing in communities that support your personal and professional development is a better investment in YOU. My community, Better Bolder Braver (BBB), for example, is dedicated to helping coaches and people-helpers market themselves ethically and effectively. At BBB, we understand that putting yourself out there can be daunting. That’s why we provide a supportive environment where you can gain clarity, build confidence, and find joy in your marketing efforts. Joining GoodGym is completely free (though many members choose to donate). You could reallocate the funds you would have spent on an unused gym membership to joining BBB and connecting with like-minded individuals who are committed to making a positive impact and you'd STILL have change every month for a donation to GoodGym! I want to help people "move forward, more healthily"—whatever that means to you. Like Ivo Gormley the Founder and CEO of GoodGym, I believe in the power of community to drive positive change and support each other in achieving our goals. P.S. In the UK, data from the Department for Transport shows that around 41% of primary school children and 22% of secondary school children are driven to school, even though many live within walking distance. Just saying. P.P.S. I'm 94% there in terms of fundraising £1,000 for Refugees at Home. Go on, you know you want to... https://lnkd.in/e5bTSW-H Thanks so much to Positive News and GoodGym for the inspo.
