All the… Pitching coaches. QB coaches. Catching coaching. Shooting coaches. Club sports teams. Elite training centers. Have it all backward! They train the position or sport first. Plugging each athlete into their cookie-cutter program. The problem is the athletes are probably not ready or even need it. Instead, train the human first, then the athlete, then the sport, then the position. Let your kid become a good human first. Dialing in nutrition, sleep, and being able to move properly. Then get them more athletic. Being able to sprint, jump, throw, crawl, roll, hop, skip, climb, and a bunch of other athletic movements. This allows them to become better at their sports or positions. Even if they only play one sport they should be efficient in other sports and movements because it helps them become better movers and problem solvers. This is what we do in our Youth Athletes 4 Life program. We help kids become better athletes through nutrition, sleep, habits, and a training program that is built for them! We don’t plug them into a cookie-cutter program built for someone else. We design a plan that meets them where they are and progress at their pace. If you want your athletes to start being better athletes, get them started with TAG! Hi Everyone, My name is Noel, and I’ll like to formally introduce myself. Age: 50 Years training myself: 31. Started in 1992. Years training others: 20. I started in 2004 whilst working at Golds gym, Herndon VA. Training Philosophy: We have different strengths, weaknesses, and health goals. Thus, everyone’s training program must suit the aforementioned. It is however important to incorporate basic strength, mobility, functionality, cardio, core, and flexibility exercises in every training program based on an individual's abilities and goals. One size doesn’t fit all. Training approach: As a certified personal trainer, I encourage my peeps to understand “Fitness is a journey, not a destination.” With an emphasis on functional fitness, my programs are designed to make one’s daily activities easier overall. Professional accolade: As a volunteer Strength and Conditioning coach, I was an integral part of the coaching team that guided and led Loudoun Valley High School boys’ lacrosse team in Purcellville Virginia, earn its first state title, winning the Virginia High School League Group 4A state championship in 2015. Ever played competitive sports? No. Soccer and athletics are amongst the most popular sports in my country of birth #Ghana – 1st and 3rd respectively. I never made the neighborhood teams in either sport let alone in boarding high school. Location: I work with my peeps either in person (their location or mine), virtual or both. What I don’t do: Convince or force anyone, especially adults, to exercise. I however try to educate people under 40 years about the long-term benefits of exercising, based on my personal and professional experiences. There is lots of good advice in this article BAUER CONSULTING: Sport Psychology based mental skills ‘PRIORTIZATION’ not specialization. A TERM I HOPE TO PUT IN THE POPULAR DISCUSSION OF THIS TOPIC Pick the right moments to PRIORITIZE one sport over the other rather than simply specializing… this is a critical miss happening now. I think Multisport athletes who play because they have a passion and aim to be the best they can become are getting the most out of the experience Different sports require different timelines So commitment, timing and experience vary. One should believe a child who loves their sport will get the most out of themselves and their experience. Elite sport requires surpassing incredible challenges and lessons and the athletes themselves needs their passion for the sport as the fuel to get through that, not parents dictating or coaches using them for wins in lieu of development Prioritizing allows the benefits and fun of mutile sports to create a more capable functional and fit athlete in the long term This is easily the next book needed

Can your kids still be multisport stars like #deionsanders #tombrady #bojackson and #drewbrees or should they pick one sport? Maybe you should consider the career of U.S. national team rower Sophia Vitas, who found her favorite sport in college. Right now, maybe your kids should just be playing many sports for the overall mental and physical health benefits. Here are five tips to help them find the right moment to specialize in a sport (if they specialize at all). Thanks to Michele Labotz, Eric Post, Tamara Valovich McLeod, Gregory Walker and Vitas for their insight for this column.

Yesterday was President's Day, school was out. My training program for my upcoming competition in March doesn't care about that. So I took my child to the gym with me. SHE LOVED IT. Watch out world, bodybuilder champion in the making! When your kids are watching you, what are they learning? Often we forget that the most influence we have is on the little humans around us that are watching and learning not what we say but what we do and how we do it. #fit4events #fitover40 #fiteventprofs #fitmindfitbody #impact #morningroutine #physicalfitness #wellness #womeninbusiness #mentalfitness #womeninevents #fitmindfulmavens #fit4e

Attrition is one metric that will never quantify how you made someone feel. Losing members is hopefully a rare thing when it comes to gym ownership. However, when you do lose members it makes it a little easier when you receive emails like this. Proud of my team and the journey we are on. Creating the perfect blend between personal training, high energy classes, community and wellness coaching. #Instate #InstateFitness #SGPT #Wandsworth #Cobham #Surrey #RealResults

I am just thinking how too much of anything is not good. A culture in West countries workplaces of high level/extreme compliance and governance is big killer of joy and fun that couldve be made without these fears by senior management of being accountable if something goes wrong. Not saying ignore these they are needed but use a bit of common sense and courage to have fun at work, too. What about thinking of how good it is if you are accountable for happiness of clients and workers who feel more freedom to be creative? How more fun what that environment have. Whats wrong with a bit of fun and genuine belly laugh and joy at work? How would it feel like, if we could work at the place where it feels as joy to say "Happy Monday", brothers and sisters. #mindfulness #happyworkplace
