Hello Construction Industry. Did you know there was a Top Jobs List, which guides workforce training priorities and federal funding. (Before J4J Innovative Consulting, I didnt) The state collects feedback based on Ohio businesses needs and has a portal for Ohioans to learn what jobs will be important now and in the future, so they can better plan a pathway for successful careers. Visit https://topjobs.ohio.gov/ Look at the video and see what information is being promoted. Keep in mind, construction management is being advertised. Hmmm???? What if they had a pathway that showed construction inspection. Would that be cool. I think so!

Good Planners are like Gold dust! A phase often heard, why is that I wonder? I am sure that every Tier 1 (and possibly Tier 2) contractor will affirm how important good planning is to its business, but how many go out of their way to create a career path for those entering the industry to become top rate planners. Not many is the answer! When I started in the industry a few years ago, I was lucky! As part of my OND in Building I had a six month industrial placement with a local Contractor. I was given a period of time in each of its departments, Labour only surveying, Labour & material surveying, buying, site engineering, contract surveying, estimation and last but most important to me Planning. The industry cannot go on expecting other people to train Planners, you have to grow your own! #Planners,#CEO,#managingdirector,#graduates, #projectmanagement
