The last time anything ‘Viking’ arrived on these shores, things didn’t go well… But we’re sure this time around will be much better. The Viking Link is the world’s longest High-Voltage DC cable, and it recently went live. The 475-mile cable connects the electrical grids of Denmark and England, and allows them to transfer clean energy when wind and solar generation in either country doesn’t meet demand. This ensures a stable supply of clean energy, reducing the dependence on fossil fuels in times of high demand or when wind and solar power isn’t strong enough. #CleanEnergy #EnergyNetwork #NetZero #Sustainability

Advancing Clean Energy Networks! ⚡🌿 The US is set to boost its energy grids with 10 new proposed National Interest Electric Transmission Corridors (NIETCs). These aren't just power lines; they're the backbone of a secure, sustainable energy future. With the potential to lower congestion and improve grid reliability, Americans can look forward to a steady flow of clean, affordable energy. These corridors are pivotal for promoting renewable power from wind, solar, and hydro sources, turning them into mainstream energy providers. Challenges exist, but the benefits—a robust grid supporting economic and environmental goals—are worth the collaboration needed to overcome them. Here's to a future with resilient energy infrastructure and greener choices! 🌟 #EnergyFuture #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability

The power supply in Europe is becoming "greener" every year. By 2030, the share of #cleanenergy is expected to rise to 55%, and to 88% by 2050. However, wind and solar plants do not feed into the grid constantly and evenly. This is why electricity storage systems are so important for the energy transition. They secure the power supply and the stability of the grid during "dark lulls". But there are still far too few of these systems - just 0.2% of future demand. We want to show you what #SVOLT's Large Scale #EnergyStorage System looks like and how it can drive the #energytransition. #DrivenByInnovation #ESS

“We need every megawatt of every type of [clean power] generation.” – Stephanie Smith, COO of Eolian Energy. That sums up the overarching theme of this year’s American Clean Power Association (ACP) #CleanPower Conference, where industry leaders agreed that in order to meet carbon reduction goals, we’re going to need an “all of the above” approach to applying all clean technologies. This is great news for NET Power, since our innovative plant design can provide reliable baseload power as well as load follow to complement renewables. Here are few other takeaways from the event: - The interjurisdictional nature of transmission means that states and federal agencies must streamline the permitting process - As the public becomes more aware of energy demand issues, their attitudes towards power projects are changing, but developers still need to engage with communities early and often to ensure successful project deployments - Workforce development can be a key driver of community acceptance as well as the industry’s ability to scale as quickly as we need to in order to meet demand We're already looking forward to next year in Phoenix! https://lnkd.in/eRM4UJhC

There are enough clean energy projects in development today to meet 80% of America’s total energy demand. So why do most of us still get power from coal and gas? We don’t have the transmission infrastructure to transport all that clean energy from the places where it’s generated to the places where we live, work, and play. To support a 21st-century economy, we need a 21st-century grid — and that means we need to expand and improve our transmission infrastructure. That’s why this week Advanced Energy United launched a new campaign we’re calling TRANSMISSION POSSIBLE 🎬⚡️ Our goals are simple: First, Transmission Possible will provide information for decision-makers, stakeholders, and the public about the critical role of the electric transmission system in ensuring grid reliability, economic growth, and a speedy transition to clean energy. Second, the campaign will identify new policy solutions across the country that support transmission infrastructure. Learn more about our campaign and find out how you can get involved at transmissionpossible.org.

Member engagement, events strategy and more for Advanced Energy United (formerly Advanced Energy Economy)
Earlier this week our team at Advanced Energy United launched a new campaign we’re calling TRANSMISSION POSSIBLE. 🎬⚡️ Here's a fun pop quiz: What is the average age of transmission lines in the US? a) 20 years b) 35 years c) 40 years d) 50 years If you guessed C, you’re right! 40 years! Moreover, nearly a quarter of the power lines in America were built in the 1950s and ‘60s, and were designed to last only 50 years. We’re way overdue for an upgrade — especially if we want to connect enough clean energy resources to the grid to be 100% carbon-free by 2050. Transmission Possible brings together clean energy advocates to educate decision-makers, stakeholders, and the public about the urgent need to upgrade our nation’s energy transmission infrastructure. Check out transmissionpossible.org to learn more and get involved #transmission #energy #transmissionpossible

Hey folks, Today Advanced Energy United launched a campaign and coalition of businesses and clean energy advocates and we’re calling Transmission Possible. Our goals are simple: First, Transmission Possible will provide information for decision-makers, stakeholders, and the public about the critical role of the electric transmission system in ensuring grid reliability, economic growth, and a speedy transition to clean energy. Second, the campaign will identify new policy solutions across the country that support transmission infrastructure. This campaign has 5 key areas of focus: Educate decisionmakers about the need for new, improved, and additional transmission; Build momentum and support across the United States for transmission policies, including Grid-Enhancing Technologies, storage as transmission, and advanced conductors; Accelerate the planning, siting, and permitting procedures for transmission projects and resolve procedural bottlenecks; Upgrade the transmission grid swiftly so we bring more renewable resources online and sustain a clean energy economy. Engage with local decisionmakers and stakeholders about the transmission needs within their state and region We have created a resource hub with state and issue fact sheets, and we are working with partners to add more resources in the coming months. Sign up for our monthly newsletters by visiting us at transmissionpossible.org. #transmissionpossible https://lnkd.in/es5PS2pS
