Neurodiversity and disability in recruitment is in the news. The BBC report this morning that just 30% of people with autism are employed. I recommend Theo Smith and Heidi K. as experts in this subject. If you haven't seen them speak at talent acquisition conferences you're missing out on their powerful stories of lived experience, combined with insightful and useful tips for employers on how to make the recruitment process more inclusive. At Tribepad our mission is to make recruitment fairer, faster and better for everyone. With that in mind, we'll be publishing our new #StoptheBias research next month. #recruitment #recruitmenttech #talenttech #ats #diversityandinclusion #autism

Ageism is real ... it does not discriminate against women or men of all ages. Throughout my professional career, I've seen countless individuals impacted by workplace ageism (including myself) impacting self-worth and self-esteem over a job loss or promotion denied because of age. Ageism doesn't stop at the workplace, it also occurs in social settings where individuals are disregarded by their age. In my latest blog entitled "Are you sure you want this job?" "Don't you want to retire soon?" I outline the four steps below as a guide to combating ageism. ✅ Make your voice heard - Calling someone out on inappropriate behavior can be uncomfortable, but it’s the best way to combat prejudice. ✅ Stay active and engaged - A great way to subvert people’s expectations of older adults. ✅ Be as independent as possible - Helping you feel more empowered and autonomous in your day-to-day life. ✅ Take time for self-reflection - Be confident and self-assured. Treat yourself with the respect and trust you deserve, and the people around you will follow suit. Your efforts can make a difference in the lives of others. https://lnkd.in/eKYsW2Ag

From my experience on both sides of the table, giving interview questions in advance is an inclusive recruitment technique that can improve the experience for everyone. Also, less costly than a potential 20k payout as NHS digital ended up with. They argued that all applicants had to be treated the same. Solution: Give them all the questions in advance. It's just one simple way to make interviews more inclusive and equitable. Good to hear this being debated and reinforced at Westminster Insight #DisabilityInclusionWM #InclusiveRecruitment #Equity #JobInterviews https://lnkd.in/eAavX5zt
