⚕MedEd Mondays We continue to hear more and more about active learning and the positive outcomes a flipped classroom has on students, from their preparedness to overall exam scores. I loved listening to how this model has impacted their success in medical school as Celia (in this video) mentions, all the work you do at home prior to class gives you the ability to have more pointed questions when going over the material a second time. Have you considered flipping your classroom? If not, what is holding you back? #MedEd #ActiveLearning #FlippedClassroom

Offering a PgCert in Education (at least) as a standard requirement for all clinical/ practice educators is a crucial step towards ensuring quality assurance. This certification not only provides a benchmark for excellence but also serves to clarify and standardise the evolving professional identity of practice educators. This is particularly important given the common disparity between the perceived identity of educators by the workplace and the reality of their roles, often leading to unrealistic job expectations. Let's bridge this gap and empower educators with the recognition and support they deserve!
Even if you’re highly experienced with many years of training in a clinical role, becoming an educator requires a completely new set of skills. If you’re a Clinical Educator, what new skills did you need to learn? Help us improve future training: https://lnkd.in/e7sw9scc #ClinicalEducators

Laughter is the best medicine... for learning too? Humor isn't just a break from the serious stuff in Continuing Medical Education. It can actually boost engagement as well as memory retention. A well-placed joke or funny anecdote can break the ice, capture attention, and keep learners motivated. Humor can make learning experiences more enjoyable, leading to better recall. A lighthearted approach can create a more relaxed learning experience, promoting better information processing. Have you ever had a funny learning experience that stuck with you? Tell us about it! #healthcare #education #humor

We are continuously looking for ways to help improve learning techniques and offer best methods to achieve it. Problem-based learning has been an integral part of medical curricula for decades. This method has helped students gain knowledge and acquire skills by engaging with a medical case in small groups. It has also been proven to aid the development of long-term retention of learning and overcome the gap between theoretical classroom study and the practical application of what they learn. We have been exploring the advantages of PBL and how it can benefit medical students in our recent article https://bit.ly/3rjM1Mo. If you are using problem-based learning in your institution, please share your experience in the comments below. #problembasedlearning #pbl #medicaleducation #medicalstudent
