What you do on your bad days matters more than what you do on your good days. On World Autism Awareness Day, let's take action to support individuals on the autism spectrum. Here are 4 key steps I will take which I also encourage others to: Education: Learn about autism to foster understanding and empathy. Inclusivity: Create environments that accommodate diverse needs. Advocacy: Push for accessibility in healthcare, education, and employment. Embrace Neurodiversity: Celebrate the unique strengths of every individual. follow me Goodluck NNOROM, Ph.D as we rise to support each other. Together, let's build a more inclusive world. #AutismAwareness #SupportAutism #bvlc #bvlcrockslinkedin.

The ethos of early intervention in autism is to embrace the developmental window when a child's brain is most malleable. Our proactive methodology is meticulously designed to leverage this flexibility, fostering substantial strides in both cognitive and social abilities. This early investment in a child's growth is pivotal, setting the cornerstone for lifelong learning, fostering independence, and enhancing overall quality of life. Autistic people often need supports to help them participate fully in their community and their lives. Profoundly autistic people need full time care, 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, to keep them safe and meet their basic needs. If we can accept these descriptions then we have to accept that they are different. This Friday, I'll be attending the first ever Profound Autism Summit in Burlington, MA. According to the website, "The Profound Autism Summit is a one day conference bringing together leaders from the areas of research, medicine, treatment, advocacy, education, and human services to discuss the needs of those with Profound Autism across disciplines and throughout the lifespan." It's time for the next iteration in autism advocacy. Show your support for the unique care, research, and service needs of profoundly autistic people. #profoundautism #profoundautismalliance

“Some 5.4 million American adults and 1 in 36 children have been diagnosed with autism. Their experiences with the condition vary widely, but their talents and potential are too often misunderstood or overlooked. Autistic people routinely face unnecessary obstacles to securing employment and health care and children face bullying and barriers to education. We can work to end these disparities and ensure they have an equal opportunity to reach their dreams by making sure that people with autism and those who support them have the resources and tools they need to communicate, grow, work, and achieve greater independence” (whitehouse.gov).
