This week (2 - 8 April) is World #AutismAcceptanceWeek - and this year's theme is colour. Please share and support the campaign to raise awareness and help increase autism acceptance. ICYMI: Last week we published an article by Rachael Klug on Autism at work: the missing workforce. Only 29% of autistic people are in any kind of employment - which is one reason why we are pleased to support this campaign. https://lnkd.in/e3MMNFqp #WAAW24

April is also Autism Awareness Month! Across the CDC surveillance sites, an average of 1 in every 36 (2.8%) 8-year-old children were estimated to have ASD in 2020. Why is awareness important? Increased awareness contributes to advocacy efforts aimed at improving policies, services, and funding for individuals with autism and their families. Advocates can work towards greater inclusion, accessibility, and support across various sectors, including healthcare, education, employment, and community services. #autismawarenessmonth #autismawareness #autismeducation #northtexas #dfwnonprofit
