Born in Norristown, PA, Hugh moved to Florida at a young age. He is one of three children and was raised by his mom in Jacksonville, FL. Growing up he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding jet skis, hanging out at the beach, and playing football. Hugh is an Industrial Safety Trainer for Publix and celebrates Black History Month every February. “To me, Black History Month is a condensed version of the great achievements, contributions, and resilience of Black People throughout history. I personally celebrate by shopping locally at black-owned businesses and acknowledging those before me. Both my grandfather and my wife's ancestors were involved in pivotal moments of African American history” During Black History Month, Hugh and his wife cook a mixture of traditional Haitian and African American dishes to honor them. Hugh is thankful to work for a company that has granted him several opportunities to advance throughout his career. “I am proud to say that working at Publix I am part of a team; we may geographically or culturally be different but through Publix, we have cultivated a family-oriented culture that promotes great customer service, safety, and success."
