I'm still a college student at heart [and in practice] For example: 👇 • I pick up pennies off the ground • My ears perk up at the words FREE PIZZA • I can openly admit I'm still pretty dumb • I still don’t use an iron on any of my clothes • My favorite food is $2 El Pollo Loco BRC burritos • I'm excited to learn • I believe in my dreams and think I can change the world Pharmacy students, don't let jaded people in your life quash your dreams. Go out there and show the world what you've got. Don't wait until you graduate. Start building your own brand now. Training the next generation of Pharmacists in Ramsay Pharmacy 👏👏

Wanted to share this thought with you guys... This will apply to everyone; whether you're in pharmacy school, currently a pharmacist, pre-med student, medical student, or resident... Leave A Good Impression Everywhere You Go... Whether you're on rotations.. working at the pharmacy.. Or volunteering for clinical experience.. Leave a good impression. Work hard, be on time, respect your preceptors and teachers, ask appropriate questions, go the extra mile, be a happy person to be around.. Why is this important? Because the world of healthcare is VERY small. Like very small. My pharmacy people understand this even more. Pharmacy world is SO small. Everyone is connected to everyone someway, somehow. For example: I went to pharmacy school at Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans, but my parents lived in Amarillo, Texas (in the Texas Panhandle), so I would go back home for the summers. I had my Texas Pharmacy Intern license, so during those summers I would pick up shifts at the CVS' in town. One day I was working at a new store and got into a conversation with the pharmacy manager there. She ended up asking me where I went to school and when I told her, she asked me if I knew a particular individual. I did. She then went on to tell me that this individual, who had gone to the same school I did in New Orleans, WAS HER PRECEPTOR was when was in pharmacy school at Texas A&M in College Station. Do you understand how CRAZY that is? New Orleans, Amarillo, College Station, all connected ?!? I share this to practically illustrate how small the world of healthcare is. You never know where the people you meet along your journey will end up... So wake up everyday and do your best. It’s clever that the sum is allocated for the final two years to be sure the commitment is there. However up to 20k PER year is quite an incentive.

Hopefully you've been following along as we've been discussing 5 Great Reasons to Choose Pharmacy! Last time we noted how there is significant flexibility regarding when and where pharmacists work. Today, we note the fifth reason why Pharmacy is a great choice: the future need for pharmacists is massive! We noted earlier that the Bureau of Labor and Statistics (https://lnkd.in/e27JxqbB) anticipates a need of ~13,400 pharmacists to enter the national job market each year for the foreseeable future. Over the last ten years, fewer students have been entering pharmacy school nationally. In fact, it is expected that on average, only around 10,000 pharmacists will graduate annually over the next five years. This gap ensures that a huge need for pharmacists will exist. Because of these gaps, pharmacist salaries are likely to remain robust and the need for pharmacists will continue to grow.  It is expected that pharmacy graduates will be able to choose very rewarding practice settings that improve or maintain patient health. The investment of ~6 years in pharmacy education is very likely to result in six-figure salaries throughout a decades-long career.
