Despite holding a great job title, earning a high salary, and garnering respect from colleagues, if you still feel unfulfilled and uninspired, you may be stuck in a career trap. It's a sign that you need to take a step back, reevaluate your situation, and prioritize your happiness and fulfillment. Don't let a career trap hold you back from achieving your true #potential. When were you last scared? For me it was when I was lost on the moors earlier… It was still dark, there was thick fog in the air, the dog had vanished, and I had an overwhelming sense…that I was not alone. Luckily for me I made it back in one piece… What about you? When were you last: Unnerved? 😱 Uncomfortable? 😱 Terrified? 😱 Many of my clients have spoken about the same big fear. They are scared that the career path they are on now is the same path you they will be on in one, three or five years. If you are not enjoying your job you can feel trapped: It might be: The bills you need to pay 😨 What your friends and family will say if you make a career change 😨 The amount of time you have invested in this career path already 😨 The thought that you are destined for this same path for years can be terrifying. However, the story you tell yourself is often worse than the reality. In the same way I managed to find my way home safely, if you allow yourself time to: 🔹Pause and think where you REALLY want to go in your career Then 🔹You can then make a plan to get there. Good luck! You don't need to be scared. If you don’t want to be scared by your career path, ring the 🔔 in the top right to hear more or drop me a message for a chat. #Coaching #CareerChange #CareerCoaching #Scared #CourageousCareerChange

Job Search Coach, Certified Professional Resume Writer, Speaker | Specializing in mindset transformation, career clarity, and job search strategy
I heard something over the weekend that truly blew my mind. Sometimes fear disguises itself as practicality. I see it all the time with those who know deep down inside, it’s time to find career fulfillment but they are too fearful to commit taking steps to get to higher ground. 🚪I’ll start a job search when life slows down. 🚪 I’m so busy with my job and managing life, how could I possibly integrate a job search? 🚪 Maybe things will get better at my job. I just need to give things more time. 🚪 I can’t afford to invest in myself. 🚪 Who am I to want more? Using practicality is simply a way to protect ourselves and keep us in our comfort zones. Reality check: There’s never a good time or the right time to pursue big goals like making a job change or starting a business. But if it’s a priority, then we will be willing to make changes and make room in our lives to make this dream a reality. What do you think are some of the practical reasons that are holding you back or closing the door to make a career/job change?

People say it's normal to not like your career. Not completely true. It's normal and possible to not enjoy your job, or even the field your career happens to be in. The differentiating factor is your level of commitment and satisfaction. A job can become a career based on just how much you enjoy that field. When you start to feel yourself waiver at a career it might be time to take a step back and analyze where those feelings are coming from. "When did this career that I chose become a job that I dread every day?" "What could I change about my career to make it more enjoyable?" These are things to think about when you update your resume (which you should always keep it up to date!) What's a job you stepped away from or a career you have changed? #selfcare #virtualassistantlife #mentalhealth #jobsatisfaction #alaskasmallbusiness #entrepreneur

There is a common mistake you make… This prevents you from making better career decisions You make decisions in a stressful and demanding situation For example - You just lost your job and you need to find a new one to pay your bills - You wait until you are very unhappy in a job before you think about your next step and then you want to change quickly In these scenarios you are not going to make your best decisions You are thinking practical what will pay your bills not what will be a fulfilling work to do Start thinking about your next career step early so you avoid being on the back foot The best time to prepare for good choosing is when there is no choice at stake This means that when you are financially stable and there is no pressure to find a job quick You will have the headspace to think about what you really want If you wanna get ahead, send me a DM.

Some great career lessons here. The real paradigm shifter? 9. The real competition is with who you were yesterday. So very true. The best work we can do requires excelling in who we are, and bringing our most expressed version of ourselves to the work. What do you think? #careergrowth #careeradvice
