We had the privilege of hosting several veterans with 51 Vets and Pavilion yesterday as they had the opportunity to hear from several speakers on sales, transitioning from military to the workforce, and more. 51 Vets is a nonprofit that helps individuals from Special Units or Aviation transition into leadership, finance, consulting or venture roles. We're so thankful to each of these men for the sacrifices they've made, and are grateful for organizations like 51Vets who help make a huge life transition a bit easier.

"Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude." -Ralph Waldo Emerson Summer can often time represent a transition period and sometimes even new beginnings. Students transition from one grade to another, organizations work diligently to finish strong before the next fiscal year, and the final campaign stretch before an election. In the Air Force, summer usually means Change of Command season. Commander's relinquish command of their previous unit and move on to the next chapter of their life. No matter where that chapter leads, it is important to show gratitude before departing for your next adventure. Join CRE8 Force over the next few weeks as we explore just a few ways to be mindful and show gratitude for the wonderful people in your organization. #cre8force #quotes #gratitude #leadership #military #newbeginnings #change #thanks #linkedinlearning

There are many reasons #veterans and nonprofits are great fits. #1 Adaptability and Resilience: In the military, Leaders are trained to adapt to ever-changing circumstances and remain resilient in the face of challenges. In the nonprofit world, where obstacles are common, this skillset becomes invaluable. Adapting to new situations and overcoming hurdles enables us to keep pushing forward to achieve the organization's mission. #veterans #hiremilitary #Leadership #Cookingupimpact

Dynamic Leader | Cultivating Success & Driving Growth | Results-Oriented Professional |Building High-Quality Teams with Passion
🌟 Inspiring Transformation through Service to Veterans 🌟 At the SAM Center, we are a motivated, diverse, and blessed group who are committed to delivering on our mission. 🙏 Like it's summarized in Matthew 20:25-28, where Jesus tells his disciples that leaders should serve others, not exercise authority over people, at the SAM Center, "It is our mission to serve those who have served us." 👀 Our Vision? "All veterans will know they are loved and supported by a community that meets their needs." 💪 Through our purpose, "We exist to serve our military and veterans. We are the conduit of the community's love for our veterans. Our purpose is to provide for the basic mental and physical needs of our veterans." 🌟 Abiding in Our Values: • Respect: As our greatest demonstration of love, we shall respect our stakeholders for their service and sacrifice. • Dependable: We will be a dependable resource for our clients and the community. • Compassionate: We will have a compassionate heart in serving our community. 🙌 Thanks to the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton, our SAM Center Board of Directors this evening has been able to lean into the experience of respected and retired Walsh University President Richard Jusseaume through a series of Building Better Boards Training as "Everything rises and falls on leadership" as quoted by John C. Maxwell. 📈 Like any healthy organization's leadership does as part of the process of continuous improvement, we invest in our team to properly serve our veteran community, enhance our board's capability to grow and contribute through the various programs and services we offer, and build upon our competitive advantages which multiply the impact of our direct support dollars. 🌟 In closing, when a good leader awakens the depth of presence in another and encounters the sacredness and inner world of the other, leadership is truly transformational and healing. This transformation and healing is what we seek to best serve our veteran community! #SAMCenter #VeteransSupport #Leadership #CommunityService #TransformationalLeadership #VeteranCare

Every time I was given charge of a new squad, or have a new soldier assigned to my squad, I'd give them my 3 non-negotiables that made life easy: 1. Always tell the truth 2. Take Ownership 3. Work your ass off If each member of our squad, especially myself, can always do these three things, we're good to go. And y'know what, everyone did execute all these things. My guys always stepped up and into what was expected of them in my squad. And our results spoke for themselves. We never missed a single deadline on a task, we never had any ongoing issues, never late to work more than once, and my guys were even letting me in on personal issues that were effecting them while we were deployed (divorces, suicidal thoughts, kids in hospitals, burnout, etc.) The ONLY way this works, is when the leader who sets these non-negotiables, sets the example in holding that standard. #leadership #lead #leader #peoplefirst #military #army #veteran

𝑶𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝑨𝒓𝒎𝒚 𝑫𝒂𝒚, we salute the valiant soldiers who stand guard, selflessly defending our nations and preserving the peace we often take for granted. As we approach 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆, we look forward to the unofficial start of summer, a time for barbecues and outdoor festivities. However, it's vital to remember the solemn roots of this holiday, established post-Civil War and originally known as Decoration Day, dedicated to commemorating those who have fallen in service to our country. 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗮 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀. These individuals bring unique skills and experiences to the civilian workforce, yet, recent studies indicate that veterans are often underemployed. At KIP Search, where we routinely see the exceptional qualities veterans bring to their roles, we advocate for thoughtful consideration of how businesses can support veteran employment. As you head into the long weekend, it’s an excellent time for companies to evaluate their hiring practices and consider how they can better support veterans and tap into their potential as invaluable members of the workforce. #memorialday #bestadvice #coaching #leadership

I build relationships and cultivate brand allegiance | 2X Mom of the Year | Community | Program | Client Success
On a cold February morning in the late 80s, I left my dad's house for the first and last time. My dad dropped me off at the MEPS station in Shreveport, LA to leave for US Navy bootcamp. As I got out of the truck, my dad said, “Wear clean clothes; show up on time; keep your mouth shut; and always put yourself into a position that they can't do without you." These words of advice have guided me for more than 35 years. They are invaluable and have helped me throughout my career. What's the best and most valuable advice you've ever been given? Share in the comments below. #CareerAdvice #LifeLessons #ProfessionalDevelopment #NavyVeteran #USNavy #Bootcamp #SuccessTips #Leadership #Inspiration #PersonalGrowth #WorkEthic #VeteranCommunity #CareerJourney #Motivation #InvaluableAdvice #AdviceForSuccess #LeadershipDevelopment

I attended an event last week hosted by the incomparable Amy Porterfield. She challenged us to #DSD (do something different). Today, I reflect on a different type of entrepreneurial spirit. It’s the 76th birthday of the United States Air Force. A thought struck me - the USAF didn't exist during WWII but emerged from the National Security Act of 1947, a true testament to the power of #DSD. The audacity to change, to adapt, to evolve - that's what separates the ordinary from the extraordinary. I marveled at the courage it took to make such a monumental shift. What conversations and debates must have filled the rooms of the US Army and the US Army Air Forces before this decision? This introspection was a wake-up call, a reminder that we too often get caught in the monotony of repetitions. How many times have I, or you, done the same thing the 2nd, 20th, or 100th time, expecting different results? The answer hit me like a bolt of lightning - it's time to #DSD. So, to all the business leaders and storytellers out there, I pose this question: What's your Do Something Different opportunity? Let's dare to disrupt and create. The world didn't change by staying the same. As we celebrate the USAF's birthday, let's also celebrate the power of transformation. Here's to doing something different and making a difference! #DSD #USAFBirthday #EntrepreneurLife

On this #givingtuesday, we want to thank you for the incredible impact you've had in 2023. Your support allowed us to serve over 500 of our military's most elite Special Operations Leaders. As of today, we have 255 fellows in the SOTF program and we helped 137 Special Operators transition into America's best businesses. It all began with a simple question during a dinner conversation between 4 executives and members of the Navy SEAL team responsible for eliminating Osama Bin Laden, "What are you going to do next?" The challenge is that many of our military's Special Operators have spent the majority of their lives serving our country and when it's time to retire, they need help to prepare them for the next chapter of their lives. Please consider helping us continue to serve those who have served our country by contributing to our mission here: https://lnkd.in/ekyv5bS The Special Operators Transition Foundation (SOTF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to helping Special Operations Forces (SOF) veterans transition from the military into their next successful career.
