𝐘𝐞𝐭, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠. A recent AMN Healthcare report revealed that 72% of nurse leaders report feeling burned out, with nearly a third considering leaving their roles. This is not just job dissatisfaction but a looming healthcare threat. To make matters worse, this trend is affecting more than just nurses. We are seeing it in leaders across healthcare and departments. Leaders are burning out due to the following: -Constant change -Pressure to meet high standards and maintain excellence in one of the most regulated industries -Necessity to adapt to new technologies and workflows -Demands for continual learning, adaptability, and flexibility The departure of nurse leaders directly impacts staff morale, patient care, and the overall health of our institutions. Their role transcends direct patient care. Leaders are pivotal in: -operational connectivity -preparing the next generation of leaders for continuity We are at a crossroads. Will we continue to watch our most capable leaders walk away, or will we reforge our healthcare leadership approach? The future of healthcare depends not just on the technology we use or the policies we implement but on the people who lead. It is time to support our leaders not just in surviving but thriving. #HealthcareLeaders #NursingLeadership #ExecutiveCoaching #Leadership #HealthcareOnLinkedIn

An new article from Laudio Insights - On average, nurse managers earn 15% more than frontline RNs. This is low relative to both other leadership roles (inside and outside of healthcare) and it is low relative to the outsized impact nurse managers have on outcomes as leaders of large mission-critical teams. This article discusses a business case for updated compensation approaches for nurse managers in order to make them partners in the value that they create. For example, manager bonuses can be created focused on YoY RN turnover of the overall service line. https://lnkd.in/eJCCGDiE

Check out the latest article from Laudio Insights: "Nurse Managers: Partners in Value Creation" Did you know that, on average, nurse managers earn only 15% more than frontline RNs? This is surprisingly low compared to other leadership roles both in and outside of healthcare, considering the significant impact nurse managers have on outcomes as leaders of large, mission-critical teams. In this article, we delve into the business case for updated compensation approaches for nurse managers. By making them true partners in the value they create, organizations can achieve better outcomes. For instance, introducing manager bonuses focused on year-over-year RN turnover of the overall service line could be a game-changer.

2024 Healthcare Leadership 2.0 Award Winner | Nurse Supporter | Leadership Coach | Keynote Speaker | People Before Profit Advocate | No Drama Enthusiast | Advisory Board Member Benadir University Somalia | Let's Connect
🏥💡 As a healthcare consultant, I'm privileged to work with leaders who understand the transformative power of these three pillars: 1. Putting People First 2. Prioritizing Patient Care 3. Pursuing Profitability with Purpose. Key stakeholders must recognize the importance of attracting and retaining one of their most needed resources: nurses. Give nurses a reason to stay that goes beyond a paycheck. Give nurses a reason to excel that goes beyond reporting them to the board. Give nurses a voice that is respected, heard, and considered instead of labeling them as difficult. It begins with cultivating environments where the possibility of change is embraced, and diverse viewpoints celebrated. Leaders must: 1. Empower 2. Engage 3. Enhance 4. Enable ...the capabilities of nursing teams by: ✅️ Putting People First By prioritizing the well-being of our nursing professionals, we create an environment where they can thrive and provide the best patient care experiences. ✅️ Prioritizing Patient Care Exceptional patient experiences are at the core of healthcare delivery. When nurses are supported and enabled, they can deliver care that impacts outcomes beyond the bedside. ✅️ Pursuing Profitability with Purpose Redefining success by coupling financial sustainability with a higher purpose is paramount. It's about reinvesting in people, saying NO to incivility, and opening doors to inclusive work cultures. At "Nurses Take The Lead," we champion this philosophy because we believe that by elevating leadership across all domains, we are not just transforming healthcare but also improving patient outcomes, staff engagement, and the overall healthcare landscape. #HealthcareLeadership #WeAreEssential #PutPeopleFirst #PrioritizePatientCare #PursueProfitabilityWithPurpose #NursesTakeTheLead #EmpowerEngageEnhance#Enable
