Just finished hosting a community event I founded for honoring community Heroes. For the past 9 years we have honored more than 200 people from a restaurant chef, hotel clerk to pediatrician. So many companies do not have any program or event for honoring those people in businesses in your community that too often go unrecognized. Are you honoring those in your company who work behind the scenes and may be the most important reason your business is successful? How about a special lunch in your office honoring those staff who truly make a difference in your business.
Looking to become more involved and make a positive impact in your community? Here are four effortless ways to get started:
1️⃣ Join local Facebook groups and pages to stay informed about neighborhood events and connect with neighbors. Participate by sharing information, seeking recommendations, and even organizing local initiatives.
2️⃣ Foster community spirit by introducing yourself to neighbors with thoughtful gestures like freshly baked goods. Small acts of kindness can go a long way in building relationships.
3️⃣ Get actively involved by joining a neighborhood association and attending meetings. Engage in discussions, have a voice in local matters, and contribute to shaping the future of your community.
4️⃣ Attend local events, such as block parties, festivals, and community fairs. These opportunities allow you to meet new people, enjoy entertainment, and deepen connections within your community.
By implementing these simple yet impactful steps, you can contribute to the betterment of your neighborhood and create a stronger sense of community. IF YOU ARE NOT PART OF A PERMANENT AND LASTING SOLUTION TO THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING CRISIS AND HOMELESSNESS, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM!
THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX IS BROKEN AND NOT WORKING FOR AMERICAN TAXPAYERS
Veteran Housing Corp would ask every TAXPAYER to demand and get answers from their elected and appointed government officials the below questions as they relate to any affordable, workforce, or supportive housing project in your community!
1. How much local, state, and federal funding, tax credits, or other government benefits or incentives did the project receive?
2. What is the affordability period for each project? Is the affordability period permanent and in perpetuity?
3. What guarantees exist have your local, state, and federal government officials obtained in writing that rents will not go up or that tenants will not be displaced or evicted after the "affordability period expires?
Every local, state, and federal housing authority and affordable or workforce housing stakeholder should adopt the State of Vermont's "permanent affordability" policy as a model for all future government funded or subsidized housing projects or developments, no exceptions!
https://lnkd.in/eFEUC8c8
Additionally, local, state and federal housing agencies should look to the Helsinki, FINLAND MODEL of ending homelessness by providing affordable housing for all
'It’s a miracle': Helsinki's radical solution to homelessness
https://lnkd.in/er9HZSQU
Even the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development AGREES THAT adopting FINLAND'S MODEL OF ERADICATING HOMELESSNESS may be of great value to resolving the affordable housing and homelessness crises in America https://lnkd.in/gkSZWYRU

In case you don't know, Community Association Managers are the glue that holds many communities together. Professionally dealing with situations so close to home--gently and firmly guiding Board members to the best way to comply with governing documents and the law.
CAMs often help draft complicated budget proposals and are extremely organized with a million things going on at the same time.
And yet somehow cheerful! Look at the smiles in the below post--these are consummate customer service professionals, serving their clients with love and a passion for excellence.
Many times, CAMs spend time after hours and even sometimes on weekends--beefing up their knowledge with ongoing education, attending board and annual meetings (in person and by zoom), communicating with vendors and just generally being awesome!
I remember this one time, I had a condo property that had a
water heater fail 💀
in a third story unit 💀💀
in the middle of the night 💀💀💀.
If that wasn't enough fun, the owner of the unit was on vacation 💀💀💀💀 and the board president called my cell phone. 💀💀💀💀💀
🔑Locksmith? Check. ✅
🪠Plumber? Check. ✅
💦Waterloss remediation team? Check. ✅
Disaster handled.
Fortunately for many CAMs the landscape has changed and board members won't call you on your cell in the middle of the night...
But middle of the night calls or not---these unsung heroes are the backbone of Condo and HOA Associations.
Dealing with negativity and hurt feelings when residents take things personally, whether neighbor issues, warning notices/fines or other issues--CAMs are in a league of their own handling difficult situations with good cheer.
Having my past experience in this arena makes me appreciate you so much more--YOU ARE MY HEROES!!!
👏Bravo Community Association Managers, Bravo. 👏
