Rakuten Symphony is reshaping the telecom industry by tackling fragmented data handling head-on. In today's era of automation and AI-driven operations, unified quality data is crucial. Rakuten Symphony's Enterprise Data Modeling (EDM) strategies consolidate data, ensuring transformative change. For instance, Rakuten Mobile, Inc.'s Site Manager solution at AT&T achieved what typically takes years in just 18 months. With a single data lake powering IT and network operations, Rakuten Symphony exemplifies data-driven innovation, unlocking new opportunities for operations. Inspired by Rakuten's entrance as the fourth MNO company in Japan, I've explored this further in my Supervised Research Paper at KDI School of Public Policy and Management, focusing on how ecosystem orchestrators are at the forefront of technological innovation, using their platforms to experiment with new technologies, gather data, and rapidly iterate on their offerings.

(Bloomberg Intelligence) -- Rakuten's push for 8-10 million mobile subscribers may be a stretch, as Japanese users are typically reluctant to switch providers. Low prices may not do the trick, as only about 8% of customers jump on that basis alone, according to an MMD Institute consumer survey. Telecom | Rakuten - Chris Hoare Yesterday, and as expected, Rakuten received approval from the MIC for base station deployment using the 700 MHz band. Our thesis on Rakuten remains unchanged and as we have detailed before, platinum band is not the saviour. Our thoughts below. With only 2x3 MHz, Rakuten’s platinum band allocation of the platinum band is small compared to the incumbents’ spectrum portfolio, and therefore will not significantly increase capacity given the low capex.
