So I have $20 to my name right now. Bills are paid and food is bought, but there just wasn’t much leftover this week. That’s okay. Then on the way home from grocery shopping today, my kids begged for ice cream. Begged. Cried real tears. All the drama. I said no. I’m short on money and I might need that $20 before payday. We have plenty of good food at home; we don’t need to stop at the ice cream store. I heard little sighs from the back seat, and then, “God, we’d really love some ice cream. Is there any way you can give mommy some money so we can get some ice cream tonight? We know you can. Thank you.” Oh good grief. “Guys,” I said, “God isn’t going to drop money on our door step so you two can get ice cream. He’s BUSY right now with natural disasters.” “Nope,” Josh said. “God said you’ll have plenty of money for ice cream and to give some to the natural disaster people.” “Josh…it doesn’t work that way,” I started, and then gave up. And then we got home. And on my doorstep was the mail. In the mail was an envelope. In the envelope was a check for $123. From an overpayment on a student loan I paid off…in 2007. The kids were not surprised. God was not surprised. They got ice cream. The Red Cross got a donation. And Mom remembered, yet again, what it means to have the faith of a child. So, I read this post from Sara while in the process of packing and “loved it” and also “loved” some of the comments, and, about an hour later, while going through “stuff” in the garage, I stumbled across a nearly one year old letter my Mom gave my daughter dated November 24, 2021 (from Grandma, with all her love 💕) with over $700 in cash inside… needless to say, God works in mysterious and wonderful ways, and I am in total awe; I am delighted about the windfall 💵💵💰💰😄. I’m not sure what you may be needing or want, and maybe you don’t even want anything, but God can pleasantly surprise you so, trust Him, stay positive and keep moving and - keep looking up ☺️💕

AMEN!!! I remember my sister embarrassing my mom for throwing a tantrum in a store. She wanted cookies and my mom had a list and most importantly I we knew my dad had been laid-off. I was about 8 and my sisters, 7&5. In the car my mom started to cry and said she just did not have the money for cookies, she would try to make us some at home when she could. She then made us a deal saying, "From now on before we go into the grocery I will say Green Light or Red Light. Green means I have some extra money and can buy a couple things. Red means I do not! I promise you you will never go hungry, but sometimes we just must be careful! Deal?" And so we did that! 30 years later I took my sick mon to the store while home visiting. As we got out of the car my mom said, "Red Light!" She laughed hysterically! I said, "Mom I got it!, it's on me. Green Light!" She died a few months later. That was 32 years ago but always a special memory!

I had a similar situation when I first began my business. I was facing a catch-22. I needed $8 for a tool to finish my client's project. I didn't have $8. My client would pay me for the completion of the project, but I needed the tool to complete it. So I prayed... And then I went to the mailbox and got a check for $12 for overpaying my internet bill the previous month. It's easy to think God is too busy or He won't concern Himself with small trivial matters, but we have to ask ourselves, "why then, of all the miracles He could have started with did He turn water into wine to save a married couple embarrassment." What a wonderful God we serve. We must continue to pray in all things--the small and the big--so He can get the glory in all of it and we can grow closer to understanding how much He loves us. Thank you so much for sharing!

As a single mom to three boys, I’ve lived these moments. It’s God’s way of saying he cares about the small things too. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

When our kids were little, special outings for ice cream were a happy event full of smiles and memories. We often too had to say that we must wait till Daddy gets paid. Near the ice cream shop was a J.C. Penny, so our oldest learning new words in school would say let’s stop by J.C.Penny and get some money for ice cream. Conveniently, a Bank with an ATM was located near the Penny Store, so he always thought their was ice cream money came from J.C. Penny. I still smile and remember those early days of reasoning.

Thanks for sharing, your testimony put me on tears because something similar happened to me when my daughters were just kids and I had no groceries in my fridge and what makes it even incredibly blessing is that I had already put the envelope from my insurance company in the trash thinking it was just the receipt or advertisement, but was looking for another piece of mail what made me go back to the trash and started opening the mail I had trashed. I have 100% faith in Prayers, God is always by our sight.

That’s how God works. First, you have to believe it as it already happened (your kid's faith) and second, you have to act as if it already happened (give it to others). God blessed your Children’s faith and used them to show you His power and love in our daily lives. I don’t say this as a “know it all” but as a doubter and worrier who has been proven wrong by God and his blessing over and over and over. He is good ALL the time! 🙏🏼
