Passionate Advocate for Financial Empowerment | Dedicated to Uplifting Underserved Communities and Individuals |Spirit aligned in redefining purpose to make life changing impacts
Be an ally. Be Kind. We ALL have one thing in common, we are all human beings first. Yet, so many different people continue to experience discrimination for a multitude of reasons. Financial wellness in the LBGTQ+ community face unique challenges and setbacks-- we all deserve to have access to financial products and services in an equitable environment. The 2024 LGBTQ+ Financial Wellness Report's key findings are a rude awakening that there is much work to be done for better financial inclusion. *Roughly half (48.15) of LGBTQ+ adults say they are financially unwell, compared to one-quarter (25.7%) of the general public. Both BIPOC and younger (age 18-24) LGBTQ+ adults are even more likely to say they are financially unwell. *Three in ten (30.8%) LGBTQ+ adults say they have experienced discrimination while accessing financial services *Roughly half (48.15) of LGBTQ+ adults say they are financially unwell, compared to one-quarter (25.7%) of the general public. *Nearly 60% (59.7%) of LGTBQ+ adults have annual household incomes below $75,000. "The data underscore the need for our economic empowerment programs, especially for younger BIPOC LGBTQ+ folks. I hope the data are a call to action for organizations serving our community. Given what we know about who is struggling the most, these organizations have an opportunity to center BIPOC young adults by being culturally responsive, trauma informed, and offering voice and choice to young people.” Maruka Rivers, Director of Economic Empowerment Programs at the Human Rights Campaign Foundation How is your credit union being an ally? If not, reach out and get involved.

I am an LGBTQ+ ally because it's important to me that everyone, regardless of gender, or sexual orientation, feels safe, respected, and celebrated for who they are. Diversity and Inclusion are not just buzzwords; they're fundamental values we should all champion. What you can do this month to be a better ally: 🌈 Take time to educate yourself on historical challenges and societal impact of the LGBTQ+ community. Understanding hardships and triumphs is crucial to effective allyship. 🌈 Be visible, show your support openly by attending Pride events in your local area or supporting a local LGBTQ+ owned business. Not just in June, but all year round. 🌈 Support an LGBTQ+ Organization with a donation or fundraiser. Egale is an organization in Canada with a mission to: "improve the lives of 2SLGBTQI people in Canada and to enhance the global response to 2SLGBTQI issues." 🌈Amplify LGBTQ+ voices, share a post on your social media, share art or activism, share resources like books and podcasts, be an advocate for their rights and visibility. An ally's role is to amplify, not overshadow.

🌈 Embracing Diversity: Celebrating International Coming Out Day 🏳️🌈 Dear LinkedIn Community, Today, we stand together to celebrate International Coming Out Day, a day dedicated to promoting acceptance, understanding, and support for LGBTQ+ individuals. As professionals and allies, it's crucial that we recognize and embrace the diverse tapestry of humanity that makes our global workplace vibrant and strong. In the workplace, diversity isn't just about ethnicity, gender, or age; it also encompasses sexual orientation and gender identity. It's about creating a space where every individual feels safe, valued, and empowered to bring their whole selves to work. Coming out can be a deeply personal and sometimes challenging journey. Many LGBTQ+ individuals face discrimination, bias, and fear. As a community, we must be allies, creating an inclusive environment that ensures nobody has to hide who they are or whom they love. Let us remember that diverse teams are more innovative, creative, and ultimately more successful. When people can be themselves, they can focus on their work, their passions, and their contributions to the world. On this International Coming Out Day, let us pledge to: Foster Inclusivity: Create a workplace where everyone feels safe and supported, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Listen and Learn: Be open to conversations about LGBTQ+ experiences, challenges, and victories. Understanding is the first step towards true allyship. Challenge Stereotypes: Challenge stereotypes and biases whenever and wherever you encounter them. Use your platform to educate and advocate. Be Visible Allies: Stand proudly alongside LGBTQ+ colleagues, friends, and family members, demonstrating our commitment to their well-being and success. Celebrate Diversity: Recognize that embracing diversity enriches our professional lives and makes our global community stronger. By working together, we can create a more inclusive, equitable, and diverse workplace that empowers everyone to reach their full potential. Let's stand in unity and ensure that International Coming Out Day serves as a reminder of our shared commitment to inclusivity and acceptance. Together, we can build a world where everyone is free to be their authentic selves, in the workplace and beyond. #InternationalComingOutDay #DiversityandInclusion #Inclusivity #LGBTQ+ #Allyship 🏳️🌈
🌈 Today, on International Coming Out Day, Maas-Riva B.V. proudly stands with the LGBTQ+ community. 🏳️🌈 We believe that every individual deserves respect, support, and the freedom to be their authentic selves. 🌟 Happy International Coming Out Day from Maas-Riva B.V.! 🌈 #ComingOutDay #DiversityandInclusion #MaasRivaBV

As a Relationship Manager at Workplace Pride, Robert Corvers takes great pride in the work he does for our members and his community. Recently, Robert had the privilege to share his personal story and expertise on LGBTIQ+ inclusion in the workplace during a panel discussion at Squire Patton Boggs. 📽 You can view the video below. This opportunity was not just important; it was necessary. Globally, we are witnessing the resurgence of anti-gay laws in countries like Ghana, Russia, and even the US. Unfortunately, this often translates into increased discrimination and microaggressions against the LGBTIQ+ community. It is crucial for employers to not only acknowledge this issue but also take action. Prioritising inclusion aligns seamlessly with business objectives. It fosters a win-win situation – not only do satisfied employees result, but it also contributes to higher profits in the long run. #WorkplacePride #LGBTHistoryMonth #InclusiveWorkplace #LGBTIQ
As we reflect on this recent LGBTQ+ event filled with passionate, open and honest discussions, with actionable commitments for progress, we look forward to continuing these important conversations - ensuring our firm will always be a place where everyone feels valued and respected. Huge thanks to the incredibly inspiring panel, who empowered the audience with their dedication to supporting the LGBTQ+ community.
