Today's prompt is supposed to be about a challenging work situation and how you overcame it. I've had lots of those, tell them in every interview and... not today. My luck has been very Friday the 13th not Friday the 13th. I missed my bus 😞 , I still got to class on time 😌 . I had left my binder in my locker, without my lock. Someone took it 🙁 . I was able to get a replacement for the class notes I bought, fortunately 😊 . When I checked lost and found, I found a sweater I didn't realize I had lost. 😲 My eclairs turned out well 😋 , but I forgot to take a picture 😩 . After a long day of flour and dough, I caught all my buses home to find I didn't have my keys 😨 . I left them in the locker room, WHEW 🎉 ! I felt incredibly lucky that someone was still in the office at 4pm and picked up the phone. I lose my keys once every 4 or five years, I have a system, they have always been found. That sick pit in your stomach followed by that head rush woozy "oh no" 🎢 . I squashed that. What needs to happen? Look for keys. There are a hundred thoughts racing, "Maybe I left them on a bus? Were they in my hand when I left?", but you know the one that leads to solutions, "Retrace steps, start from locker room." Insert luck here 🍀 . Go back, get keys. I am constantly learning from them (and laughing with them). Any time one of us has a question or needs a hand, the whole team jumps in to help. If one of us is ever having an off day, the others are always there for support - and usually a good laugh - to keep us pushing through. Happy National Puzzle Day! We like to jam out with some jigsaws—our fancy rotating puzzle board is essentially a permanent fixture at The Union, and if we’re not deep in the trenches of strategic/design thinking for our brand partners, we’re probably huddled around the puzzle board. WITH’s affinity for puzzles shouldn’t come as a surprise, though; as Jamie Sims put it, there are a lot of parallels between jigsaw puzzles and the strategic work we do: 1. You start with a scope and a framework to establish the boundaries of the project—in puzzle terms, you find the outside edge/corner pieces. 2. Progress might be slow at first, but you soon ramp up to speed and embrace the flow state. 3. The follow-through is key; you have to make sure that last piece is in place before you can start patting yourself on the back for a job well done. TL;DR: It doesn’t matter if it’s a puzzle or a complex brand strategy project—we’ll get jiggy with it 🧩 #NationalPuzzleDay

However, Buckley's has managed to do it brilliantly with their iconic ad campaign. It doesn't try to sugarcoat the unpleasant taste of the syrup but instead embraces it as a necessary evil. As marketers, we can learn a lot from Buckley's approach. By focusing on authenticity, relatability, and humor, we can create campaigns that cut through the noise and connect with our target audience. So, the next time you're struggling to communicate your brand's value, take a page from Buckley's playbook and embrace what makes your product unique.
