A phone call this morning changed everything for my family & I... I have accepted an offer to take on a role as a part of a team of people at a company that ALL have me wondering if it will require medical intervention to get the smile off of my face! 😁 Details TBA... BUT - this post has an ulterior motive. My job search was because of a layoff... my second experience with that. What I know is that there are a TON of exceptionally skilled, awesome people who are still struggling with their job searches... Rather than the expected "keep your head up" or "your turn will come" - this is what I am doing: Every job lead in my pipeline, including 3 others I was in the process of interviewing for, will now be shared with specific people who are unemployed that might be interested in them. I will NOT disengage with the recruiters I've been working with - instead, I will redirect them to other people impacted by layoffs. I was incredibly fortunate to get this new opportunity in such a timely manner. If you're reading this and you're fortunate enough to be employed, please consider helping someone who isn't! ***EDIT*** Holy algorithm surprises - I did NOT expect this post to get the level of attention it has! MY DMs and Connection Requests are at 99+, and I expect it to take some time to catch up. NOTE: I am NOT a career or talent acquisition professional, & I cannot provide coaching or headhunting services - my near term focus will be learning the ropes at my new job!
Hi friends - if you have a moment today, please be so kind as to comment on my LinkedIn post or leave me some kind of review, and of course, please pass along any openings or positions that you may know of. Much appreciated. 💕
Ross, I am totally doing the happy dance for you! Congratulations! But I must know: Has anyone warned your new employer that they are regularly at risk of being in stitches because of your sense of humor? It seems like you should come with a medical advisory note. :)
ROSSS!!!! Whatever new job life has in store for you, I know it will be something huge! Any company is lucky to have you 👏👏👏
Congratulations Ross Cavanaugh I will use this as a prayer point to have my own job too🙏
Ross: What you plan to do says a lot about your character. Why would any company -- and especially with folks wanting to do more than "work" but make a difference and find purpose in life and career -- not want someone like you? Congrats! ✅
Ross Cavanaugh congratulations! I look forward to finding out what company makes you smile that much! And hope my next company makes me smile too. Ps I just saw your older post and your “command center”! I have home office envy now.
Congratulations, Ross! Wishing you great success in your new job!
