We, as backstage heroes, rarely get visible(!) credit and kudos - keep on going, be the leading example!
Congrats for recognizing those who actually make it happen!!
Last month, the circus gave me the perspective I needed.
I saw two shows in June and left feeling inspired, almost giddy.
The audience gasped as people spun, balanced, swung on silks, bars, trampolines, and more. "This is their job," I thought. Having a nephew who is in the circus, I recognize the grueling schedule, the incredibly hard work. It's not all fun and games for sure… but there is something so special if you have ever seen one of these shows.
As time has passed since the last show, I realized that I'm still thinking about it. And thinking about that sort of job and how effortless it all looked - and what I took away from witnessing it.
1. The #confidence! The time, skill, dedication and showmanship undertaken to participate in the likes of cirque du soleil is awe-inspiring. All of that practice, falling down and getting back up-- the show must go on. Knowing you got this thing.
2. #Teamwork makes the dreamwork. Truly. The #trust we see between these folks on stage. They are literally entrusting their safety in each other. The slight nod indicating "I'm ready to toss you/catch you" - wow.
3. Everyone has a 'core skill' but no one does only one thing. The juggler is also a 'base' for acrobatics. The clown also sings. The tumbler also walks the tightrope. A #range of skills builds the team and has people work with each other in different ways.
4. Lastly (that I'll mention today) -- the #joy. Watching people in their element, with people they trust. It just felt GOOD to be in that energy.
All of these elements - confidence, teamwork, trust, skill-building, joy -- they are the pieces that make our work special, too. What would you add to the list?
Creative Producer in Live Entertainment | Virtual Production | Mixed Reality
In so many conversations recently about 2.5D workflows for either LED Volumes and virtual production, or normal live events production, I’ve continually been pulling this up on my phone!
Such a good reminder that a lot of these clever workflows come from such a great place, and this still holds up as to one of the best visual demonstrations and explanations. So cool!
Super helpful to understand when looking into 2.5D in Epic Games Unreal Engine, disguise , Notch , or when discussing with Pinar Seyhan Demirdag as to how Cuebric’s workflow works with AI-generated imagery.
I appreciate you, Clarene Mitchell for sharing this and extending the invitation to BE YOURSELF - even on LinkedIn. I gasped in disappointment and despair at the embellishment of skills, abilities and #accomplishments here on LinkedIn. #Authenticity is challenged when individuals find themselves in a state of panic or desperation - then #impostersyndrome creeps in. It's important to #BE YOURSELF - individuals are drawn to YOU not who you wish to be or pretend to be. Stay true to your skillset, #capabilities and outcomes. #plagiarism of idea, #innovation, thought and execution peels off. BE YOURSELF. #authenticitywins#oscars2024
Here's an #Oscars2024 moment that has LinkedIn relevance.
Da'vine Joy Randolph won a Best Supporting Actress #Oscar for her role in The Holdovers. I didn't see the movie, but I 💜 her acceptance speech.
"For so long, I always wanted to be different and now I realize I just need to be myself."
💡This is your friendly reminder to BE YOURSELF, even here on LinkedIn.
BTW...I think it is awesome that Da'vine won in a category that included Hollywood royalty, Jodie Foster.

💫 Five years ago, I embarked on a journey with a vision: to create a space where dance could flourish, where young talents could discover their passion and prowess in the art of movement. This vision gave birth to a partnership with Rita McMorris and the Impulse Dancers. A program more than just about dance; it's about empowerment, community, and growth.
🌟 February was a defining moment for us as the Impulse Dancers showcased their talent at the Pistons game. But this is just one of many milestones we've celebrated. From our program's inception, with less than 20 members, to now boasting over 100 dedicated dancers, the journey has been nothing short of remarkable.
🚀 Our Milestones:
Explosive Growth: From under 20 to over 100 participants, reflecting our community's trust and passion.
Consistent Performances: Delivering 3 spellbinding shows annually, with two set in our very own transformed theater spaces.
National Recognition: Earning the prestigious opportunity to perform at Disney this July, a testament to our dancers' exceptional talent and hard work.
Innovation in Training: Introducing sold-out classes and unveiling a new studio space, repurposing rooms to create more avenues for dance.
Streamlining Operations: Implementing auto payments and monthly tuition, making access to our programs seamless for families.
Inclusivity in Dance: Launching an All-boys hip-hop class, challenging norms and embracing diversity in dance.
These milestones are not just numbers or events; they are the embodiment of dreams turning into reality. They signify the relentless spirit of our dancers, the unwavering support of our community, and the power of a shared vision between Rita McMorris and me.
As we look to the future, filled with bright prospects and new challenges, our journey with the Impulse Dancers continues to evolve. With plans for further expansion and the introduction of more innovative classes, we remain committed to providing an inclusive, empowering, and enriching environment for all our dancers.
Let's continue to celebrate every leap, turn, and step together, as we look forward to more milestones, more growth, and more moments of joy.
👏👏👏 Here's to the power of dance, the strength of our community, and the endless possibilities that lie ahead.

We love how Jon Finger illustrates the creative process and how to explore storyline ideas, with the help of AI tools like Runway#Gen1
As we’ve seen creative teams in advertising agencies do this (the creative thinking), then quickly draft a rough board on paper, then look for images to make a mood board, sometimes making “animatics” out of the rough drawn images of the board, then spend long meeting(s) trying to help clients “imagine and see” what they had in mind in order to get an OK to go further & launch a production process.
Now here we are… laying ideas into reality is undeniably boosted. - And that’s fantastic !
🖖🏼💫
PS : not to mention, see how AI is (just) a FAB tool or extra paintbrush in a creative palette, DRIVEN by inspired creative minds…

Alex Marmalichi once again filming me imagining a short story in the wild using Runway#Gen1. This time with Bronte Scoggins and Ginny O’keefe driving the performances. Can you imagine this tech leading to some really interesting cinematic improv troupes?
