I wanted to tie my post this to the podcast we were recording, and I wanted to cover how COVID has effected education. One of the main things I pulled from this article was how far behind that even in 2023/24 COVID has put learners in the classroom behind. Some schools they looked at were up to 1.5-2 years behind where learners needed to be, but as they highlight, you can't speed up teaching most things. #CT302KU https://lnkd.in/e_-nx2Ei

What is Iowa's 3 Tier Approach to Addressing Absenteeism? Tier 1 - Developing attendance going culture for all students through various activities. Tier 2 - Reach out to individual families and remove barriers to attendance. Tier 3 - Meetings with families and attendance plans/agreements. In the below article, home visits are also mentioned but Iowa struggles with both budget and staffing to do this. I would encourage anyone involved in Education and Universities to read it and listen to the podcast. That would be OK if nothing changed. But when we know things are changing from one day to the next, how can we possibly come up with a curriculum to last 40 years?
