As Amanda Gorman writes in her poem, "Believer's Hymn for the Republic": Today, we gather so that our Founders' words do not go diminished. But also so that the work does not go unfinished. For it's not just in a declaration of independence But the everyday declaration of its descendants That make a people equal. In observance of Independence Day, ReUp offices are closed today. This holiday offers a time to reflect on our nation’s history and take the time to consider the opportunities we all have to contribute to a more inclusive and equitable future. This day is not just about remembering the past; it's a call to recognize the progress we have made and the challenges that still lie ahead. It's an opportunity to educate, to raise awareness, and to inspire a continued commitment to the fight against racial discrimination and injustice. As we celebrate the 4th of July, it's important to reflect on the meaning of freedom and recognize the distinction between this day and Juneteenth, often referred to as our second Independence Day. While the Declaration of Independence in 1776 marked the freedom of the 13 colonies from British rule, it did not extend liberty to all individuals. True freedom for Black people came two years after the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863, with the final enforcement of emancipation occurring on June 19, 1865 – a day we now honor as Juneteenth. Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of resilience, hope, and the ongoing journey toward equality and justice for all. As we commemorate these significant moments in history, let’s celebrate our progress and continue to strive for a future where freedom and inclusion are realities for everyone. Join us in recognizing both Independence Days and committing to the work of building a more inclusive and equitable society. Together, we can make a difference. #4thOfJuly #Juneteenth #FreedomForAll #CarloAndNikaWhiteFoundation #InclusionUncomplicated #Equality #Hope #Resilience

Today, we are urged by the Left to fight against America in the name of America. We must not be fooled! “Equality for all,” as we have seen, is not the aim of these radical leftist movements. What they want is the implementation of Marxism through equity in our free nation. Is this a sinister and purposeful attack being made by those in power? Or is it merely a misunderstanding born of ignorance? We may never know, but what we can know is that Americans deserve their God-given right to equality. We must recognize this as our battlefront as we seek to conserve our nation’s principles. Equity and equality are as different as the East is from the West (literally). The two cannot coexist, so one must overcome the other. Which will it be? If we value the words of Jefferson and the American way, we must stand firmly against Marxist movements and stand up for the right to equality, for all. #equality #equity https://lnkd.in/eUE4C4UB
