Let’s address something straight up… yup I’ve worn a few T-shirts in my accountech career 👕👕👕 It’s true and in an industry where people often spend decades in the same role or company, it might stand out a bit (even more so than the bald head and tattoos!). But equally, why IS there often a stigma around changing roles? Being bold Im pretty sure I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m proud of the impact I’ve had at each business I’ve worked with, be it for 10 years or for 6 months. I still consider many of my leaders I’ve worked with to be friends and regularly call on them (and them on me) for advise and support. It’s time to own it. 💪 (And for the others who also have a few t-shirts in their collection!) I recently joked in a WhatsApp’s group that this makes me more akin to the Fernado Alonso of our industry 🏎️ … (a driver who, for the record, is still delivering his A-game both on and off track regardless of the team he’s with). Across my journey to date I’ve built some amazing teams, launched killer products & business units, grown revenue and ARR by millions of £££ (and in some cases $$$) and helped a businesses or two across their series A journey (and beyond)… 📈 I’ve delivered huge and measurable impact. Equally I believe that what I’ve learned in each role has made me both the person and (I hope) the well rounded leader that I am today. In each of my roles, whether as a full time employee or as part of a fixed term contract, the business benefited greatly from that rich and diverse experience and fresh eyes that I brought with me - be it from banking, media & fintech to finance, accountech and beyond… And with this in mind I’m prouder than ever to be continuing my journey with the team at Silverfin, working with what is truely one of the best products I’ve ever been lucky enough to work with. 🧑💻 I’ve been blown away by what we’ve built, the amazing feedback from our customers and the potential it has in the UK market. 🚨 Revolut has been big on financial crime hiring in the past few years, with roles in the division seemingly being the most abundant. Now, however, the man leading the initiative has left Revolut to join rival Wise. Aaron Elliott-Gross joins Wise as global director of product compliance in London, leading "the first line product compliance function." He was previously at Revolut for two and a half years, joining as head of strategy and operations for financial crime. Six months later, he became part of the firm's 2022 partner list alongside 12 others. Revolut says partnership is a "tremendous achievement" for "employees that embody our core values." Exposing Revolut’s Unfair Tactics 🚨 This will be my last post about my experience with Revolut I feel it’s crucial to share the truth about their unfair practices and the facade of inclusivity. My Story: 🌟 High Hopes Dashed: I joined Revolut in September 2023, excited for growth and opportunities. 📉 Unjust Termination: Despite hitting my targets for Average Handling Time (AHT), First Contact Resolution (FCR), and Net Promoter Score (NPS), I was abruptly terminated in March 2024, allegedly for performance reasons. ⚠️ System Failures: The evaluation system is flawed. My performance was unfairly assessed while I was on leave for two weeks before my termination. How could my scores be accurately calculated during this period? 🤔 Lack of Transparency: My Team Lead didn’t update me about my scores on People or Slack, nor did we discuss them in our 1:1 meetings. This lack of communication is troubling. 🌍 Racism and Bias: I’ve witnessed discriminatory practices against employees from specific countries, including Poland, Portugal, and the UK. Despite their claims of inclusivity, Revolut’s actions show a different reality. The Impact: 😔 Mental Health Strain: This experience has taken a significant toll on my mental health. Feeling unsupported and undervalued is disheartening. 🔇 Breaking the Silence: My termination letter included a clause forbidding me from sharing my experience. Today, I’m breaking that silence to expose the truth about Revolut’s toxic culture and discriminatory practices. Call to Action: 🕵️♂️ Investigate These Practices: I urge authorities to look into Revolut’s unfair practices. 📢 Raise Awareness: Please share this post to help others avoid similar experiences. 🙏 Advice to Job Seekers: Be cautious when considering Revolut. Look for employers who truly value and respect you. Closing Note: This will be my final post on this matter. I’ve lost faith in Revolut’s ability to uphold their claimed values.
