Read on. 🐊 What does a typical day look like for you? - A standard day has me going to about five different retailers to monitor how our product is being sold and finding ways to increase sales within those stores. 🐊 What is the biggest challenge you’ve encountered since working here? - Being malleable to situations. Lots of changes happen quickly, and sometimes you have to be ready to adapt to whatever gets thrown your way. 🐊 What’s your favorite part of the job or any achievements you’d like to share? - Being able to travel to impact different parts of the country with our product. My favorite achievement is setting the carts here in 9 Home Depots in NYC. Marks and Spencer are relocating from Church Street to Liverpool One, they will open in the former Debenhams unit on the 15th August. This is one of 8 units they have taken from the shuttered department store. Another ex Debenhams store is getting a new lease of life this month, with a new TK MAXX opening in Workington. This is an interesting turn of events at Harvey Nichols Consumer spending on luxury goods has remained relatively buoyant, despite the cost of living crisis, however Harvey Nichols has struggled to regain momentum since the pandemic, posting a £30m loss for FY22, despite a 58% increase in sales in the same period (£192m vs £121m for the prior year). Manju Malhotra has stepped down as Dickson Concepts, Harvey Nichols' owner, did not support her plans for boosting growth, as the owner believes the current strategy is sufficient. Standing still in such a fast-moving world can result in you going backwards, so it will be interesting to see how Harvey Nichols fares in the coming months... #turnaround #retail #luxurygoods

Macy's plans to close 150 stores over the next three years as it works to strengthen the business for the future and fight off a take-private bid from Arkhouse Management and Brigade. Store closures are not new for Macy's — it shut an additional 85 stores between 2020 and last year — but this marks an acceleration and shows the need to better prioritize real estate.
