In the Credit Card Fraud Detection project, I developed a model to detect fraudulent credit card transactions. Using a dataset containing information about credit card transactions, I experimented with algorithms like Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, and Random Forests to classify transactions as fraudulent or legitimate. The project emphasized the importance of metrics such as precision, recall, and F1-score to evaluate the model's performance. Additionally, techniques like SMOTE were applied to handle imbalanced data. This model provides financial institutions with a powerful tool to accurately identify and prevent fraudulent activities, enhancing transaction security and protecting customers from fraud. #DataScience #MachineLearning #CodSoft

Last week on a famous fraud podcast a merchant said: "One of the problems is the fragmentation of IDV. There are so many IDV companies that have the same product, take a pic, take a selfie. You can not really test it out and it is frustrating. How do you test it? Buy fake IDs online? The finance industry and anyone that needs to do identity verification needs to go beyond the driver’s license, passport, or whatever document they are looking at. Starting at like the beginning of the customer journey when they onboard with you. What information are they giving you? A good email address? A good phone number? Is the name a name or is fake? Looking at risk holistically across the customer journey is the only way that you can truly understand a person. Looking at device, phone, email, behavior; looking at all those things is how we are going to be able to identity proof someone."
