The first month for your new hire is crucial. 4 things we do at Flowd that other Founders can steal ↓ 1️⃣ A social event tailored to them This helps your new hire integrate into the team. 🎤 When Derron joined we had a Karaoke night 🎯 When Ryan joined we held a Darts competition 🥂 When Stew joined we went out for dinner & drinks It's also good fun! 2️⃣ Intro calls with every department The new starter gets to network with everyone across the team. To understand how their role fits into wider ops. 🤝 It expands their support network 🤝 It makes them feel welcome 🤝 It shows them your culture 3️⃣ Weekly catch-ups for the first 4 weeks So they can: 💬 Ask any questions they have 📝 Receive feedback from day 1 🙌🏼 Feel supported & cared for Don't hire and then just leave them to 'get on with it'. 4️⃣ Sit down-chat with me & Ashleigh Holmes We talk about their career plans. So we can carve out personalised progression plans that align with their goals 🚀 This is SO important. These low-effort & low-budget things make a MASSIVE difference to the new person joining your team. Make the time! 🙏🏻

Happy Friday All! How important is developing an inclusive culture and team mentality to you as a hiring manager? Working from home on a Friday is a great, but it also means we are separated as a team. To counter this we have a weekly round up towards the back end of the day. In this we celebrate our individual and team wins of the week. Share out war stories to learn and bounce off each other. Building a strong team mentality. We also have a little fun towards the end to close out the week on a positive note. We had to stop doing quizzes as Harvey Chawner kept winning, or cheating. Jury is still out. As an employer, how do you create a good atmosphere within your business? As an employee, what aren't you getting out of your current role that you might get elsewhere?

✨ Happy Monday to my LinkedIn Network ✨ So.... Today during our New Hire Orientation “Meet & Greet," I realized that I totally forgot to post about something super fun and exciting! So... I give it to you today 😃 Last quarter I won an employee incentive program at Next Level Solutions, and guess what?! I got to choose an experience, or item that I wanted (within reason). This is actually the 2nd time I’ve been able to win something because of this program. How awesome is that! My first winning prize was naturally, a room upgrade for an upcoming trip. This time, you won't believe it, but I decided to go with some new HexClad Cookware pans! Because, you know, #adulting. 😄 And because I was sick and tired of cleaning our “non stick pans” that were actually becoming "very stick pans". And really, this prize is for my husband, since he does all of the cooking. You’re welcome Ryne Armstrong. 😜 Winning this incentive program made me realize the importance of celebrating small victories and treating ourselves throughout the year. Luckily at NLS, this is something that is encouraged, but I know that isn’t the case for everyone. So, here's a friendly reminder to all my fellow “work hard, play hard” connections out there: don't forget to treat yourself! Whether it's a small achievement, like winning an office contest, or a big milestone in your career, take the time to reward yourself and indulge in something that brings you joy! What's one thing you've treated yourself to recently? Share it in the comments below! #dogoodwork #nls #nextlevelsolutions #nlsnow #employeeengagement #employeeincentiveprogram #treatyourself #treatyoself #celebratingvictories #smallwins #thanksnls #lifeworkbalance #workhardplayhard #growthmindset #jointheconvo #bestplacetowork

"Living the dream!" is a response you usually hear from people that are just going with the motions, but my first 6 months in my new role has me fully engaged and living the dream! Working for a company that continues to invest in people/team development and fosters a culture of belonging, has been the perfect environment to accelerate my learning while building meaningful connections. When Kenvue leaders talk about putting people first, it looks like- Teams coming together to learn our company behaviors, putting those behaviors into action, DC tours, networking events, professional development, and so much more (including having fun!!😁). 💪🏾🧠 #kenvue #ownermindset #daringspirit #outsidein #deliver #teamwork

It’s our first time 😁 It's Vilde’s first full-time job, and I'm thrilled to be a first time manager! I have been extremely happy to be given the opportunity to welcome a rising star Vilde in our Talent Acquisition team at Mercell. These past months have been super exciting but challenging at the same time, reminding me every day the importance of #leadership and the big responsibility that comes with it- as you literally impact a persons life!!! Learning how to lead people effectively, is a marathon not a sprint! 🏃🏻♀️ I have been preparing and training myself for this first-time manager experience, and will keep training & improving everyday for the miles to come… Here are the key lessons from my recent experience and would love to share with you: 1️⃣ Create a Positive Environment: A new colleague, needs a welcoming and positive work environment. Encouragement, constructive & continuous feedback, and most importantly recognition of the efforts can go a long way in boosting their confidence and motivation. 2️⃣ Set Clear Expectations: It's essential to establish clear goals and expectations for the new employees role. By clearly communicating what is expected of them and the team, they can have a sense of direction and purpose, leading to greater engagement and productivity on a daily basis. 3️⃣ Provide Interesting Tasks: To keep a new employee motivated and engaged, it's crucial to allow time for new tasks despite the day to day work - tasks/projects that challenge their skills and allow them to learn and grow. Providing a variety of responsibilities and opportunities for development will help them feel valued and excited about their work. 4️⃣ Support Growth and Development: Actively support the professional growth of your team member. This can involve providing learning resources, mentoring, cross department collaboration and creating opportunities to expand their skill set and knowledge base on areas they are passionate about. 5️⃣ Encourage Open Communication: Maintaining open lines of communication is vital - especially if you work remotely as in our case with Vilde! Regular check-ins, one-on-one meetings, and creating a safe space to share thoughts and concerns can foster trust and ensure the feeling of being heard and supported. Last but not least, when things go not as expected - to be able to solve them together and turn any challenges into learning opportunities. 📌 If you have any advices, learnings or tips that have worked for you as a manager, please feel free to share.

How often are you put out of your comfort zone❓️ Today, the 360 Search team took a leap and revamped our usual quarterly kickoff. Instead of just focusing on targets and goals, we delved into perceptions of role expectations, performance, and values. These weren't the easiest conversations, but they were incredibly insightful and rewarding. We gained valuable perspectives both on a personal and proffessional level. 🟢 Ready to go for Q3 🟢

🏀 Celebrating Personal Wins and Building Confidence 🏀 Over the weekend, we witnessed our daughter score her first points in basketball. She’s a great defensive player. Often the youngest in her team, she learned quickly to play to her strengths and be the player to get the ball to her team mates. But she’s also been working really hard on her shooting and has just lacked the confidence to go for a shot mid-game. The last couple of games she has started making a few attempts with the encouragement of her coach and team mates. In the first two minutes of the game, I turned to my husband and said “she’s going to have a great game today. I can tell she’s in the zone”. It was unbelievably thrilling to see her take her first shot and sink it in. And then she followed it up immediately after with another one! She had a great overall game and the girls won 27-4, but that first time achieving something she’s been trying so hard to master - I think that was the highlight for everyone! One of our principles at Mantel Group is “Love what you do and be awesome at it”. This is really key to driving a fantastic learning culture where we have the freedom and ability to continue to master our craft, but also openly share our expertise and knowledge to teach and coach others. It also flows through to how we recognise and acknowledge each other’s attempts, successes and ability to overcome challenges in our weekly shout outs on Slack. It’s amazing what a personal win will do for our confidence and how much that can feed into more and more successes. And it is especially satisfying when our team mates can celebrate our successes with us. If you want to “love what you do and be awesome at it”, check out some of the roles we currently have available and see if there are any that suit your craft. #techcareers #mantelgroup #principles #lovewhatyoudo
