Another successful year at Jaws Youth Playbook's 40th Annual Ron Jaworski Celebrity Golf Challenge! The two day event is Jaws Youth Playbook’s crown-jewel fundraiser for at-risk youth in our community and helps build playgrounds and ball fields, donate sports equipment, distribute hundreds of bikes over the holidays, support summer meals for kids, and much more! Over the years — with help from generous sponsors and donors like you — JYP has raised more than $7 million to support underserved youth in the Greater Philadelphia area. As always, it's an honor to host such an amazing event. Thank you to all who attended and who donated. We can't wait until next year! Catch all the photos from the event: https://lnkd.in/eiv9Sk9Z

It's my favorite day of the year, ExtraGive! Today the small community of Lancaster, PA will raise millions of dollars for local charities. We're at $1.3M already, and it's not even 9am. While there are many worthy charities in our community, I ask that you consider supporting Lancaster Public Library. Some reasons to support LPL include... The Lancaster Public Library serves over 40% of the county's population with two locations in Lancaster City and Mountville. The Lancaster Public Library serves more than 350,000 annual visitors in a typical year with free public library services. Lancaster Public Library patrons borrow nearly 700,000 items each year. The Lancaster Public Library is not fully funded with public dollars. In fact, more than 60% of our budget is funded through donations and library generated revenue. Across the country, comparably sized public libraries operate with budgets two to three times ours, have over twice as many staff members, and receive upwards of $38 per resident of dedicated local funding! In comparison, the Lancaster Public Library receives about $1.49 per resident in local funding and it isn't guaranteed.

According to an analysis released yesterday in conjunction with a project called BIG JOY, people who engage in daily acts of #kindness or #gratitude experience a lift in emotional well-being, positive emotions like hope and optimism, become happier and have improved relationships. This #nationalphilanthropyday, what act can you do that will lift your spirits? Need an idea? Check out how you can help your community through your local DG store below! (More on the Big Joy project: https://lnkd.in/gA7k3rs6)
From DG’s Feeding America partnership to our St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Thanks and Giving campaign, this #nationalphilanthropyday we celebrate the many ways our teams exhibit the Company’s mission of #ServingOthers. For the upcoming holiday season, join us in exhibiting kindness as we collect toys for local nonprofits to distribute to children in need at each of our ~20,000 stores through December 8. Dollar General is here for what matters and will also be donating $100,000 to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.
