Loved this post by Ben Meer & I’ve recently been implementing a similar practice. I’m still fine tuning, but here is the gist. I break my work day into 4 quarters & think of the early morning before work as pre-game warmups & focus is get my mind right (prayer, priming, exercise, etc). Evening as post game: quality family time, review and preparation for next day. Then 4 quarters during the day of 2-2.5 hour increments. Which for me is a more manageable time span of focus. I’m using the following prompts for my planning & review. Planning: what do I have going on today? who am I going to be interacting with? what is going to be thrown my way? And visualizing how I want to show up in those situations. Scheduling in key priorities. Review: did I follow my plan? If not, why not? Was I prepared enough? What did I learn that will help me be better tomorrow. And I’m habit tracking both the planning & review sessions in a daily habit tracker for accountability.

I wish I knew this life hack sooner... The Four Quarters Method: Give me 2 minutes, and I'll show you how to skyrocket your consistency. Whenever I used to hit a snag in my day, I'd think: "I'll wait until tomorrow for a fresh start." This all-or-nothing mentality is a trap. It's how eating one cookie can turn into an unplanned cheat day. Or how watching one Netflix show can spiral into binging a whole season in one sitting. But what if, instead, you viewed your life like a game—with 4 daily quarters? Make a mistake? No problem. You can bounce back *today* in your next daily quarter. I learned about this method from author Gretchen Rubin. Here's the 3-step breakdown: — Step 1: Split your day into 4 sections. Most people have 16 waking hrs daily (with 8 allocated towards sleeping). So divide your waking hrs into quarters. For example, if you wake up at 6am, here's how that looks: Q1 (Morning): 6am-10am Q2 (Midday): 10am-2pm Q3 (Afternoon): 2pm-6pm Q4 (Evening): 6pm-10pm —   Step 2: Strategize what you'd like to do in your quarters. Potential Ideas: Q1: Morning routine, deep work session Q2: Healthy lunch, power nap, exercise Q3: Meetings, admin tasks Q4: Quality time with family, self-care Everyone's situation is different. The key is to be intentional with your time. — Step 3: Journal on your daily execution. In the evening, reflect on how you performed in each quarter. Grade your attitude and effort. (These are two areas you can always control.) Maybe you had a bad quarter but bounced back in the next one. Celebrate that! Those turnarounds are life-changing. — As Winston Churchill once said, "Perfection is the enemy of progress." The next time you hit a rough patch in your day…  don't wait for a fresh start tomorrow.
