“You shouldn’t be so harsh!”
“You were so nice, they didn’t get your point!”
“Stop being so angry.”
“What about reverse discrimination?”
“ You were an apologist!”
“If you weren’t so mean, I’d want to listen.”
There is always some excuse given as to why we “white” folks refused to listen to the truth about our own behavior.
Each one of us “white” people respond differently and learn differently. As a special education teacher, I can attest to this.
It is important that we hear the same anti-racist ideology in many different different ways. But they’re all the same message.
Some people respond to kindness others respond to harshness, and most people are somewhere in between.
About 20 years ago, I was told that the only way to get “white” people to understand is to bite their heads off and leave them in shock. I was told I didn’t present anti-racism with urgency and power I was being an apologist.
“White” folks who want to learn and be part of the solution instead of the problem need to find way to join the steep, lifelong anti-racism continuum. Not every racist educator will suit your needs, but there is someone out there for you probably more than one.
The best thing of a “white” person can do who wants to learn is to listen to Black people when they speak. Take to heart what the have to say! Believe them. Empathize and then do it again and again and again.
LISTEN TO BLACK PEOPLE WHEN THEY SPEAK.
Black people in the United States live this every day. There is no one who knows better about how to solve the problems (caused by the “white” community) that face the Black community today.
It is imperative that we “white” folks stop scrutinizing the tone or the manner of the communication and start listening to the content!!
We must do introspection and educate ourselves so we stop perpetuating system systemic racism.
We don’t do this to be heroes or saviors or to get our picture on social media.
We do it because it’s the right way to act human and we too will benefit from it greatly in the long run.
It is way past time, “white” people take racial, responsibility and unite with Black, brown, Indigenous people, etc. and help to dismantle the system of oppression that people who look like us started and people who look like us benefit from!

Why did Malcolm X send King a telegram in ‘64? 🤔
St. Augustine FL (where the first free Black settlement in the U.S. is located) was the site of intense racist violence and subsequent protests. After seeing how hostile racists were being to our people (they were even throwing acid in pools), Malcolm felt the need to let King know that he’d send an army down there to help out if needed. So, let this dispel any rumors about any “beef” they had. And let it be known that Malcolm was REALLY about that life. And King was too for that matter, they just fought back differently. 💯
It’s collaboration over competition, y’all. How can we get there together? 🗣️
Did you know this??? 🤔

#LetTheTruthBeTold ... In this episode, we discuss the NBA draft and the selection of legendary player #lebronjames' son Bronny James to play with the Los Angeles Lakers. We wish Bronny a highly successful NBA career and that he will silence the doubters with his skill, commitment, courage and confidence. There will always be haters and jealous naysayers who will find something negative to talk about, especially when it comes to Black families. The nepotism rumor has begun and is now in full swing in the news. This is utterly ridiculous when the owners of these teams have always practiced nepotism and I don't recall anyone bringing it up. In fact, the late Jerry Buss, who owned the L A Lakers hired his daughter, Jeanie Buss who began her sports management career when she was a teenager and is now owner of the LA Lakers. Another fact, Jerry Buss trained and guided Jeanie Buss through a comprehensive education preparing her to assume control over the organization once he passes on and set up a family trust for his children. We must recognize the significance and power of nepotism and use it to create generational wealth and legacy for our Black heirs. Again, congratulations to Bronny and hopefully one day, all these wealthy sports legends and other Black entrepreneurs will recognize that the "UNITY" in CommUNITY is detrimental to achieving a healthy Black collective family, whether kin by birth or kin by skin color.

Bibi, M. (2023). Grassroots responses from the Black community towards the race riots of the 1980s. Fields: Journal of Huddersfield Student Research, 9(1), 1-17.
Abstract:
Much of the literature on the topic of race relations and rioting is consumed by state narratives and those of elites as opposed to uncovering the voices of Black people who have endured, lived through, and shaped their culture and lives around these concepts. This article builds upon existing work on race relations, providing agency to the Black community to articulate their rightful lived experiences, emotions, and perceptions of the riots and issues of race relations during the 1980s. Grassroots experiences of the Black community will be compared to academic outputs relating to race relations and rioting regarding how such responses were captured in official policy, reports, and secondary literature. The following research questions were addressed: What was the cause of the race riots in the 1980s? What were the subsequent reactions? What methods of resistance were utilized by the Black community? What was the impact of government officials and policies in response to the race riots? Contrary to popular sentiments, the events of the 1980s were not due to the innate criminality and delinquent culture of Black people, but rather, humane reactions towards the poverty and criminalization afforded to Black people by the state in which they were retaliating and responding in solidarity against. By including the academic works of Stuart Hall and Paul Gilroy this article incorporates emerging narratives that reiterate the points mentioned above. Through incorporating the cultural output of Linton Kwesi Johnson, John Agard, and Benjamin Zephaniah a realistic presentation is offered of the experiences of criminalization and racialization endured by Black men, their recollections, and their views on reforms.
Did you know United actually cobbled together a football team in 1967? It was the brain-child of Mike Groh (’69).

Breaking News: The Expose False Prophets, Series #1 is ready to view on YouTube. Christians, lets make this Christian video go viral. If the world can make a secular video of a profane comedian like Katt Williams go viral, surely we as true Christians can do the same as we share the gospel of Jesus, while exposing these false pastors and prophets one by one because they are leading millions of people to hell. https://lnkd.in/eCt4F56V
