The school bell rings. It's time to celebrate!! It's sometimes difficult to see the forest through the trees. When we implement contingencies for the people we serve, our staff, or anyone else over whom we wield significant power and with whom we spend a lot of time, we aren't just working toward objectives, we're impacting what those people love, what they hate, and whether they gravitate toward or away from us or those things in the future. Clients achieving meaningful outcomes is central to what we do, but it's important to evaluate whether they're looking forward to sessions starting or ending, as that will inevitably impact how long they want to continue on that path, and what they tell others about it. Staff implementing quality services and helping clients achieve meaningful outcomes is similarly important, but their enjoyment of the process can directly influence how long they stick around to do more, and the larger impact on your company and the community it serves. Being able to see the bigger picture requires we care about - i.e. regularly evaluate and act upon - both outcomes and experience. These are not interchangeable, and both have their time and place. So when the kids celebrate at the sound of the bell, we need to ask ourselves - is it the bell at the beginning or the end of the day?

Strategic Storytelling | Storytelling For Quantifiable Change | Commercial, PR, Social Impact Campaigns |
Storytelling powerfully fills gaps that lead to misunderstanding and lack of acceptance. Here We Are helps fill that gap in a time when 71% of Americans say that they have never met a transgender person. There is so much to say about Here We Are - a powerful new campaign we are proud to launch today with GLAAD. For now, please spend some time getting to know Gio, Ashton and Nadya on the website - share it with your friends and communities and let everyone know that every person has the right to be their authentic selves, free from fear. We can break down the barriers of misinformation and political rhetoric simply by getting to know each other. Acceptance is easy - it's human nature.
At a time when anti-transgender rhetoric and legislation are growing at alarming and dangerous rates, it is crucial that Americans hear from transgender people about their lives and how the current political and cultural climate can be harmful to them. Today, we launched “Here We Are,” a ground-breaking video campaign that shares the real stories of transgender people, in a time when 71% of Americans claim they’ve never met someone who is transgender and when anti-transgender rhetoric from politicians and some in the media continues to rise. Most Americans are exposed to trans issues through media-biased narratives. GLAAD and GROUND Media’s new campaign dispels these misconceptions to introduce Americans to transgender people and their supportive families who showcase that trans identity is real and that everyone deserves to be who they are and live safely.
