Let's take a trip back to the late '80s and early '90s when email first started becoming a way to connect with customers. Remember when automated email campaigns first popped up in the mid-'90s? I do. Back then, companies were excited to use software to send personalized emails, if though the initial systems lacked the features of today’s marketing automation platforms.
