More than a billion people use Google Maps every month. But 99% don't know the best features. Here are 7 tips to feel like a local (wherever you go). I've been working in Amsterdam with Google for the past week (and I cannot wait to tell you all about it. We hosted a truly phenomenal series of events for the International Broadcasting Convention). While I was there, my #1 most used app was Google Maps (by a landslide). So I figured I'd share my love for it and all the ways I use it as a Googler! Which one of these tips is your favorite?

I recently discovered the On-the-Go feature of Google meets which really fascinated me. It was launched in on mobile in November 2023 to help people who are travelling or are literally *on the go*. It gives you only the important action controls like mute/unmute, raise hand and audio. The most important part of this feature is you cant use your camera in the meet in this mode, it is only for sending and receiving audio :) You can practically plug your headphones in and treat this like a regular phone call! In this fast paced world where people are constantly travelling, it makes sense that people would need a mode where they can attend their meetings in listening mode and give their points whenever necessary. This just shows how deeply google understands its user base and makes features to optimise their experience :) P.S.- Ignore the photo, that was me when I was 1 :)

The newer scope for Google Lens and notification to be sent to caller when receiver extends the call and viceversa Finding a different language song where lyrics are difficult to grasp to search things have never been my cup of tea despite google search and youtube existence to help always. So, through still to develop google lens video feature we can upload short videos of that difficult to grasp song we got from tiktok or elsewhere so that we can play the full songs on youtube as google lens- video will guide us to play that hard to grasp different language song. And youtube app can be linked with google lens-video app so that the songs and other contents of different nature that were hard to find earlier would play directly. Also, if potential receiver extends the call while a caller calls, voice notifications or long sound notifications must be sent to caller to convey him or her that the call is extended such that a hidden message to caller would be conveyed that receiver would pick the call but alittle while afterwards. Also, on other way around, a long call could be given to receiver by caller with again unique sound or notification sent to potential receiver after normal call period time finishes so that he or she would know the caller is in hurry mode. And these features can be monetized if possible. #innovation #creativity #telecom #google #lens #video #monetization

🚀 I recently attended the Google I/O Watch Party hosted by GDG Venezia (Google Developer Groups Venezia) in Padova, and it was an incredible experience! 🎉 While most of the audience, including myself, expected the event to focus mainly on Android updates, the spotlight was actually on AI. I must confess, the insights into AI advancements were amazing and highlighted a new era in the world of Large Language Models (#LLMs). But the surprises didn’t stop there! The next day, Google I/O announced official support for Kotlin Multiplatform (#KMP) in Android. This unexpected news opens up exciting possibilities for cross-platform development, and I’m thrilled about the future of app development with these new capabilities. (Goodbye Flutter? Just kidding! 😄) One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity to meet and talk to Giuseppe Sorce , the founder of ADI (Android Developers Italia) and Lead GDG Venezia. The networking opportunities and the collaborative spirit at the event were truly inspiring, reinforcing the power of community in driving innovation. A big thank you to the GDG Venezia team for organizing such a fantastic event and bringing the tech community together. #GoogleIO #GDGVenezia #TechCommunity #AI #KotlinMultiplatform #Networking #Innovation #Padova #KMP
