@Brown Field in Otay Mesa is undergoing a 20-year transformation into a regional air traffic hub. The initial $100 million phase includes a new terminal and airplane hangars, expected to create 2,500 jobs and have a $1.5 billion economic impact. The most extensive redevelopment on the West Coast will occur in four phases, with the first phase set for completion in five years. The airport will receive about $14.8 million in Federal Airport Capital Improvement Grant funding over the next five years. Subscribe to sdbdj.com for more. https://lnkd.in/gUsjf55k

Phase 1 of the Green Line will expand the Primary Transit Network, providing connections to the Red and Blue LRT Lines and three MAX BRT lines. What’s the Primary Transit Network? Glad you asked! It’s a permanent network of high-frequency corridors that have transit services operating every 10 minutes or less, at least 15 hours a day, seven days a week. 🚆🚌 Improving the Primary Transit Network is the focus of RouteAhead, the 30-year plan for Calgary Transit. BruRAP2 - Assessing the Improvements to National Road Network Last week I visited Brunei and presented the result of the second Brunei iRAP assessment - after being involved in the first assessment back in 2015 (working at my previous employer). I presented the result to both the Department of Roads and then to the National Road Safety Council. Brunei's road safety performance since the 2015 surveys has been excellent, with fatality rates halving (from 35-40 to 10-20 per year). One of a few countries to achieve this result. The performance tracking assessment (comparing the star ratings in 2015 with 2024) showed that the roads were now safer. The proportion of roads with three star and better having increased significantly and there being no continuous one-star road sections. As with the earlier assessment we also developed several Safer Roads Investment Plans (SRIP) to address the remaining two star road sections. This includes a combination of safer infrastructure and speed management. The speed management in this case being to reduce the majority of speeds to below the speed limit. #irap #safesystem #visionzero #trafficsafety #roadsafety iRAP Working with a great team Olivia Heer Lewis Martin and Jae Morse. The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) is advancing a two-phased plan to study how to keep coastal trains in California operating safely, particularly between Dana Point and San Clemente. This area has seen two significant landslides in the past year, disrupting passenger rail service. HDR Engineering Inc. will lead Phase 1 of the study, which includes a $2 million investment to develop protection options for the rail infrastructure, understand climate effects, identify solutions for beach erosion, and consult with stakeholders. The study will also outline costs for needed improvements. A second phase will further explore long-term options and engage residents and stakeholders. OCTA aims to ensure the rail tracks remain open and reliable.

On one of the hottest days in England and one of the blusteriest days in Ireland, Gary Tyne CMRP and Mark Crosbie ventured out in the wilds to explore the origins of Pro-Reliability Solutions and explain why their reliability pillars are so vital to the smooth running of your business. We hope you enjoy the dramatic views of the Ribblehead Viaduct and Hook Head Lighthouse as much as we did filming at them. #reliabilityengineering #rootcauseanalysis #reliabilitymatters
