I've been looking into the new AI-powered Microsoft Surface laptops, and honestly, I find their marketing quite misleading. While they tout advanced AI features like Windows Studio Effects and the Copilot key, these are largely software enhancements rather than groundbreaking innovations. The hardware improvements, such as enhanced cameras and haptic touchpads, are good but not unique in the high-end laptop market. If you don’t need these specific AI features, similar performance can be found in other laptops at a better price point. It feels like Microsoft is using "AI" as a buzzword to justify a premium price without delivering substantial new capabilities. More transparency about the true value of these "AI-powered" features would be appreciated.

The question is: will Copilot help to fix corrupted drivers, bluetooth issues, and correctly detect performance issues? If so, this will truly help

If you really want to serve the needs of your customers, please keep in mind many of us don't want or need AI embedded into our operating systems. We want stability, performance, and consistency, with non-intrusive, privacy focused experiences. We want to use our computers and take advantage of the hardware we have - not to have our computers be a data pipeline for Microsoft metrics and AI modelling, or a new source of ad revenue. Experimenting with AI as a tool and how all of its variations can *in time* improve the general user experience, that's great. But it's a feature, not the purpose. You will continue to push consumers to alternatives with so much focus on something users aren't asking for.

While Copilot stands out as a powerful AI-powered developer productivity tool, its wider adoption might be hindered by potential concerns around intellectual property (IP) infringement. This is particularly relevant in sectors like banking and financial services, where I've encountered such concerns working with clients. Putting aside those concerns, Copilot's capabilities extend beyond just automatic code generation. It has the potential to revolutionize development by also assisting in test script creation based on the application code itself. This could significantly improve developer productivity and efficiency

A state of the art touch display circuits designed by my team and me - proud, well done 👍
