Embracing circular principles is especially crucial for retail and fashion companies, as it enables them to foster adaptability and reduce overall material and resource consumption. Dedegumo, an esteemed bespoke watch manufacturer from Japan, sought to establish a distinctive retail and fabrication space in New York City. The challenge lay in the constraints of the site—an intricately narrow and short retail space situated in the vibrant Lower East Side of Manhattan, renowned for its historical significance as a hub for tailors, leatherworkers, and small accessory shops. To reflect the precision and artistry of Dedegumo's products, Circular devised a sophisticated and restrained architectural solution. This approach ensured that the space aligned seamlessly with the highly engineered, artisanal nature of the showcased watches, creating a captivating and refined environment. Artisanal carpentry, crafted from sustainable wood, intertwines with raw stone and hand-forged metals, seamlessly coexisting in the space while remaining materially separate. Each element, thoughtfully designed for disassembly, is given a life beyond this location. In this harmonious dance of creation and reclamation, the store embraces a circular essence. From products to immersive experiences, things are really fast changing. It was very interesting to see how the word "IMMERSIVE" and the concept of "Immersive experiences" is fast trending in this industry.
