We're barely scratching the surface of the potential clinical benefit of iPSCs. But they're extremely difficult to work with. A new platform called FAST-STEM aims to reduce "the time to generate ‘differentiation ready’ stem cell lines from several weeks to 5 days." Interesting academic community effort involving "eight different cell types across nine different laboratories." I wonder how this compares to the current speed within iPSC companies like bit.bio Full preprint from the Garton Lab at the University of Toronto here: https://lnkd.in/gW552e59
