Speaking up is crucial, but it's equally important for teams, supervisors, and leadership to actively listen and engage with the ideas, needs, concerns, and perspectives presented. Embracing every voice doesn't require agreement or immediate answers, but it does demand attentive listening and validation of the points made, especially when discussing safety. Nothing is more vital than ensuring every team member feels seen, heard, understood, and supported. Recognizing and celebrating each individual's strengths and achievements is also essential. Witnessing the success and acknowledgment of others can inspire and drive everyone to contribute more actively, enhancing overall performance and results. By valuing and elevating each other’s ideas, and celebrating successes together, we foster a work environment of mutual respect, trust, and confidence across all levels. At today’s Safety Committee meeting, we were joined by representatives from every part of the company, including Sitework, Concrete, Management, Superintendents, and Project Managers. At Scherer Construction, we recognize that having a voice is crucial to safety. We celebrate an industry that values every voice. Our Safety Manager Greg led several stand-down meetings this week to discuss various safety topics, particularly fall hazards. We are proud of our employees who actively participate in our safety committee, serving as the eyes, ears, and voice of our organization.
