So true - and the fact we still see this mentality in "civilized nations" clearly shows there is a long way to go in order to classify ourselves as civilized. A failure to accept that science advances would still have us living in the dark ages - though given certain political figures across the globe, it sometimes feels that we have regressed. Of course, there should be other options - if you decide to become an anti- vaccination supporter, that should be reflected in your medical notes; that way, when you arrive in hospital ill and riddled with the disease that everyone trying to cure, doctors can make sure they don't give you the vaccine that you are protesting about. Instead you can have the existing medical treatment you still cling to, accepting its failure rates. This will then allow the vaccines to go to those who need it; those who have supported it's development, and worked with medical professionals to improve the quality of healthcare for all. Having worked closely with those on the front line and seen the impact of several viruses and diseases, I have no time for individuals who cry "ant-vaccine", yet are the first in line demanding it when they are ill with the very disease they protest against. I think, in future, if your belief is that real, then it is recorded on your medical records and you are treated accordingly in hospitals. That way everyone wins; anti-vaxxers don't get the substance put into their bodies; hospitals get to treat those who need it properly; and hopefully society becomes more aware of the true threat of those "heretics" who seek to keep us in the dark ages and fear advancement, yet are the first to demand the vaccine when they fall ill themselves.
Many thanks for the kind comparison and expressions of support from the scientific community

*Systems Science is dead; Long live Systems Science* (Part n of Infinity) This is wonderful news. When we cleaned out Harder House offices before the demolishing, we found so many classics from the 60s-70s era---many of them currently out-of-print. More endeavors like this are necessary to transmit knowledge from that era to newer generations of humanity. https://lnkd.in/gCWzJPms Reanimating those long dead books is going to take a while, but in the meantime, you can always read Martin Zwick's Elements and Relations. #systemsscience #cybernetics #generalsystemstheory

Researcher in more sustainable power electronics (PE). PhD and Engineer in PE with a focus on magnetics and their application to Electromangetic Compatibility.
Already told you about this article https://lnkd.in/gxeiEQgd but this time I am trying a virtual poster with a focus on the main findings. Should I communicate my next discoveries in this way? I take inspiration from https://lnkd.in/gPVjGwT4
