What is P2 and why is it important? P2 is short for pollution prevention. P2 practices aim to reduce or eliminate waste at its source, which can result in your business saving money, increasing efficiency, and becoming more sustainable. BEP can help your business implement P2 practices by conducting on-site visits to assess opportunities, provide technical assistance for problem areas, and explore best management practices that fit a particular industry sector. Contact us at the link in our bio to discuss P2 for your business. #FAQFriday #NvBep #P2 #Nevada #PollutionPrevention

"Industrywide, water companies are seeking to increase customer bills by up to 91%" This news story is about a wastewater treatment plant in the UK, but the story is similar across the globe, including here in the US. Centralized water and wastewater infrastructure is proving to be unsustainable environmentally, functionally and economically. Decentralization of water and wastewater treatment is the solution to the problem: 1. It reduces strain on already overwhelmed centralized infrastructure. 2. It allows for easy re-use of water - conserving two extremely value recourses (water and money) AND 3. It protects the environment. What are some other reasons? https://lnkd.in/e9THx5cu

Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) is a highly effective water treatment process designed to eliminate liquid waste from industrial systems completely.ZLD lowers waste volumes, leading to cost savings associated with waste management. By recovering and reusing all water from processes, ZLD minimizes water consumption and reduces strain on freshwater sources. ZLD systems help industries comply with environmental regulations, minimizing wastewater discharge and disposal costs and contribute to responsible water management, ensuring clean water availability for present and future generations. ZLD systems are indispensable for heavy industries, promoting compliance, resource conservation, and mitigating water scarcity. #wiprowater #WaterTreatment #CleanWater #IndustrialTreatment #WaterTreatmentSolutions #ZLD #WaterTreatment #SustainableSolutions #ResponsibleWaterManagement

A great post! Water conservation and reducing pipe run is so important for energy conservation . According to Energy Star the average waste water treatment plant uses 10kBtu/gallon treated, some are as high as 50kBtu. That means a 10 min shower requires almost 8 gallons of gas equivalent to treat the waste water. Yikes!!!! This is a huge opportunity to decarbonize! #decarbonization #energyconservation #waterconservation

Once upon a time this was raw sewage...and now treated effluent, which will be discharged into the river to make sure it doesn't negatively impact the environment, and also to keep the water cycle moving and ensure sustainability. #waterconservation #waterandwastewater #watertreatmentsolutions #waterislife
