Every voice matters in clinical trials. Throughout history, clinical trials have unintentionally sidelined minority perspectives, leaving a significant gap in understanding treatment impacts on diverse populations. This oversight leads to biassed data and potential harm to underrepresented groups. However, embracing diversity in trials fosters better health outcomes for everyone. At JLC, we celebrate inclusion and prioritise patient engagement to ensure all voices are heard and health outcomes are improved. By amplifying diverse voices, we ensure our research reflects the real-world needs of all communities. #JLC #ClinicalTrials #PatientEngagement #ClinicalTrialDiversity

Pelvic Organ Prolapse Awareness Month is just around the bend. Patients, practitioners, industry, please BANG the DRUM long and loud next month! APOPS established #POPAwarenessMonth in 2014 via Joint Resolution 71 with introductory efforts of Senators Lazich and Taylor, and cosponsored by Representatives Endsley, Skowronski, and Johnson. I remain so thankful for their engagement. If 1 in 2 women prevalence isn't enough to lift the veil on this common, cryptic women's health issue, I don't know what is. Here's a link to some tools to aid process. Keep it simple, every event matters! https://lnkd.in/eTAJvEpN Here's some suggestions to event types. https://lnkd.in/gTWppBAg #APOPS #womenshealthempowerment #TheBiggestSecretinWomensHealth

Gender-affirming care is a supportive form of healthcare. It consists of an array of services that may include medical, surgical, mental health, and non-medical services for transgender and nonbinary people. For transgender and nonbinary children and adolescents, early gender-affirming care is crucial to overall health and well-being as it allows the child or adolescent to focus on social transitions and can increase their confidence while navigating the healthcare system. Each of us should be able to live, work, and make decisions about our health and our future with access to resources and support. People, not politicians, should have the freedom to make their own decisions. Tell lawmakers to oppose bans on gender-affirming care. Take Action Here: https://p2a.co/ojvvlah

This #TransgenderAwarenessWeek we want to highlight Dr. Liz Miller's study, which shows that #nonbinary and #transmasculine adolescents are experiencing more non-affirming #healthcare experiences than #transfeminine adolescents. These negative and non-affirming experiences create #healthcare and well visit avoidance. Healthcare systems need to address their disrespect and refusal of care as well as proactively train and educate their providers to support the #transcommunity with competent and affirming care. https://lnkd.in/g3zVdRFF

Happy National Latino/a Physician Day! Only 6% of US Physicians are Latino/a, whereas patient populations in states like California can be as high 40% Latino/a. We applaud the grassroots initiatives of Latino/a physicians to raise awareness to this important issue regarding US physician workforce representation, one that ultimately impacts patient care and healthcare outcomes. https://lnkd.in/gN44ddPm #NLPD.#NationalLatinoPhysicianDay #NationalLatinaPhysicianDay #NationalLatinxPhysicianDay #HispanicHeritageMonth It is work that we are passionate about at Thalamus, and support these efforts through research we conducted in collaboration with the California Health Care Foundation, to better analyze this matter and drive change and innovation. https://lnkd.in/g7u5bjYN).
