Minister President Jan Jambon states: "It is remarkable to see how not only the [Blue Gate Antwerp] site itself but also the buildings and business activities of various commercial players are constantly pushing the boundaries of our ability in terms of entrepreneurship, of circular economy, of sustainability. The dedication to research and development, the integrated approach, and the concrete results of all these efforts, make Blue Gate Antwerp an inspiring example both nationally and internationally".
We indeed aim to be an inspiration to others, and to communicate in a transparent way about our goals, achievements and lessons learned. In this context, we release our newly revised and fully updated #CSR report, as a follow-up to our previous report from 3 years ago. We are thankful to Bopro to guide us in defining and deploying our E²SG strategy. Together with all stakeholders we can further develop the BGA site, considering the internal and external visions and needs in terms of Environmental, Economical, Social aspects and Governance (E²SG).
We are proud to have presented the report yesterday at the Kick Off event of UNITAR | CIFAL Flanders in Antwerp.
Feel free to take a look into the report here: https://lnkd.in/e94BSE4W
Fun fact: you will see that the title of our CSR report is "Be Good And Dare". This is a subtle reference to the letterword of the public-private partnership association BGAD (Blue Gate Antwerp Development). Under topic 1.4.2. in the report you can find the 4 core values to which the Be Good And Dare phrase refers.
If you have any questions regarding this document or the development of our site, feel free to contact Dimitri Torfs.

Today was an hectic day at ESMT Berlin We had a great class with Dr. Carsten Linz about digital transformation, and many insights pop out of my mind making connections with ESG business transformation.
But being at ESMT is not only about business, sustainability and technology, it’s about Germany history as well. Built in 1963, ESMT building used to be the headquarters of administration of the East Germany.
We had the opportunity not only to have an history class with Jens Weinmann but visit historical rooms, and feel the hard desinfectant smell of the East Germany administrative chief room.
Hopefully those symbols and smell remain only as part of history.
Definitely ESMT has been a memorable experience.

Congratulations to Christine Ward-Paige from eOceans® for winning Volta's #OceanTech#PitchCompetition powered by Boast, Invest Nova Scotia and Startup Yard! 🏆 🌊
The eOceans platform automates the manual, tedious, time-consuming, and error prone aspects of data collection by digitizing and quality-checking observations in the field. Then, by integrating the expertise of marine scientists and local-knowledge holders, the data are processed, analyzed, and shared in near real-time for timely and informed decision-making.

➡️ EXECUTIVE COACHES & CONSULTANTS: We've created the system that resolute and humble CEOs use to transform their B2B organizations into a "Category of One," thereby creating demand (vs. traditional selling). Let’s talk.
Q. When does a CEO get to behave like a foul-mouthed, seemingly rude boor and get lauded for it?
A. When he's built a Category of One in a highly competitive industry, as Ryanair's top dog Michael O'Leary has done for 30+ years.
Back when The Demand Creation Institute was first earning its wings we would show the attached video when performing keynotes - Mr. O'Leary speaking at the 2011 Innovation Conference in Brussels. It offended some, inspired others. Either way, our intent was to showcase how the Design of Unprecedented Value actually occurred, and the results it could produce.
Flash forward to March of 2024 and Mr. O'Leary is on track to earn a $100 million bonus from his employer ... while still exhibiting his impolite and vulgar tendencies.
WSJ recently ran an insightful piece on him and Ryanair, and while you can read it for yourself (https://lnkd.in/giS5T6Fx), here's what I took away from it:
* KNOW THY CUSTOMER BETTER THAN THEY KNOW THEMSELVES *
If you're a follower of my LinkedIn content, you know that we've learned that most companies don't really understand the UNspoken needs of their Dream Customer. And that is why they never truly strike the genuine customer chord and realize the complete bounty available to them.
Ryanair already owns 20% (20%!) of all European air travel, and have their sights set on 30% by the end of this decade. That's happened because Mr. O'Leary and his team clearly understand The One Thing that their customers want: the lowest airfares available. Nothing else. That's it. Period.
Enjoy the video plus the read, and please remember: Every industry, every market can be tipped by rewriting the success source code. The question for you as a #ceo or #businessowner, do you have the 'want to' / fire in the belly to perform the exhaustive research necessary to discover Their One Thing and bring it to life? And, do you know how to do it?

Hip hip hooray: Our innovation unit HHLA Next wins the “Digital Lab Award” 🎉 HHLA Next took 2nd place in the Transport and Infrastructure category of this year's study “Corporations on the Trail of Startups” by Hamburg-based consulting firm Infront Consulting & Management GmbH and business magazine Capital Magazin.
The study examines the structures and recipes for success of existing innovation units of corporations and medium-sized companies. This year, the focus was on “Twin Innovations: Digitalization x Sustainability”.
Ecological and economic sustainability are fundamental elements of the HHLA Next strategy and are taken into account in all build, partner and invest initiatives. In doing so, HHLA Next not only addresses company-specific issues, but also offers solutions to challenges that affect the entire maritime logistics ecosystem, such as reducing CO2 emissions in transport services or in port call coordination.
