I guess you could say things are getting pretty serious... Here's my rap sheet of the courses and certs I've earned so far (in order of completion): - Pre-Security - TryHackMe - Intro to Cyber Security - TryHackMe - CompTIA Security+ - Dion Training/CompTIA/Udemy - Jr Penetration Tester - TryHackMe I'm BIG into TryHackMe so I think it's also worth noting that I've successfully hacked the following boxes: - Basic Pentesting - SimpleCTF - Pickle Rick (yes, there is a Pickle Rick themed box you can hack lol) - RootMe - Tomghost - Bounty Hacker It's not much in the grand scheme of things but it's a solid foundation. Today I'll be hacking at least 1 more box and spending some time learning about Red Team engagements. I'll be sure to talk about the box I do today in my "Day 4 of Documenting my Cyber Security Journey" post tonight. Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday! #cyberawareness #cybersecurity #tryhackme #penetrationtester #ethicalhacking #ethicalhacker #cybersecuritytraining #hacking #hackerone #comptiasecurityplus #offensivesecurity #openforwork

11 years IT Experience | Cybersecurity Graduate | Studying for Security+ | Top 2% on THM and climbing
Today marks the last official day (for me) of the #secpluschallenge from Josh Mason. I documented my studies for 30 days with the goal of holding myself accountable to study consistently and purposefully. Hopefully this challenge and my posts have and will help to motivate others to do the same. There is no better time than now! I want to thank so many people for their encouraging words and support. I also made some connections along the way of others on the same journey. There are so many passionate and dedicated people out there who are the future of cybersecurity and I am looking forward to all of them finding their place in the field. I finished up the studying portion of the CompTIA CertMaster. I covered: 5.5 Explain types and purposes of audits and assessments. 5.6 Given a scenario, implement security awareness practices. During which time I answered a lot of scenario based questions, reviewed the material if it was right or wrong and took notes on anything I struggled with. Also over these 30 days I finished an entire Security+ course on Udemy from CyberNow Labs Powered by Total Seminars which I recommend to anyone as a starting off point. The instructors are very engaging and know their stuff. I actually think they have a promotion going on right now so check out their page before tomorrow. I also dabbled in some great Security+ resources from Cybrary labs and Slay Security+ and Professor Messer videos. There is literally so many great places to find information online without breaking your bank. Also no day is complete without dabbling in TryHackMe who has been my constant companion for 4 months. I do plan to continue unofficially with the challenge until I take the Security+ exam. I still have some rough edges I want to smooth out in my knowledge and I have some practice exams I want to take. #securityplus #comptiasecurityplus #cybersecuritytraining #cybersecurity #informationsecurity

I just completed the "Getting Started in Security with Black Hills Information Security and MITRE ATT&CK" course from Antisyphon Training, and I highly recommend it! This was my third course after "SOC Core Skills." The course spanned 16 hours over 4 days, with each session lasting 4 hours. It was designed for those new to computer security, covering core fundamentals through hands-on labs that demonstrate essential attacks and defenses. The labs are excellent for learning new tools and reinforcing what I've studied in other classes. One of the highlights of this training is its practical focus. Rather than overwhelming students with excessive data or outdated technologies, the course concentrates on what truly matters for day-to-day security work. We learned to understand and defend against common attack techniques and gained hands-on mastery of these crucial topics. Can't wait for the next course! Day 20/30 of Josh Mason's #secpluschallenge. Today i chance upon examcompass through one of Slay Security+ youtube channel "Exam Strategy" hosted by Jesse Johnson. i highly recommend that video to anyone taking this challenge and also studying for security+. Examcompass has free practice test you can take to access your knowledge on each of the domains you have studied in the exam objective. I took practice test 1 and 2 and i must say understanding the concepts is what is needed to pass this exam and not memorizing. Check comment section for the link to the video. #cybersecurity #securityplus #learning #challenges #comptiasecurityplus #cybersecuritytraining #examcompass #informationsecurity
