Bavaria & Queensland #researchalliance launches its #grantprogram to support Collaborative Research Projects 🌏
The Bavarian Ministry of Science and the Arts, in cooperation with the Queensland Government, has established a research alliance to support research projects between researchers from Bavaria and Queensland. Markus Blume, State Minister for Research and the Arts, emphasizes the strong commitment to the Bavaria-Queensland Research Alliance and the importance of joint research that addresses #globalchallenges: "We are separated by around 15,000 kilometers, yet our strategies for securing prosperity and stability closely align.”
The aim of the alliance is to foster formal cooperation between the two governments for collaborative university-level research across various disciplines, including greener fuels, energy storage, emission reduction technologies, and the wider bioeconomy. This initiative builds on existing research and industry connections between the two states.
The areas of research to be funded cover a wide range of topics, including:
🚀 Additive Manufacturing
🚀 Aerospace
🚀 Artificial Intelligence
🚀 Cleantech and Emission Reduction Technologies
🚀 Sustainable Energy
🚀 Health, Life Sciences, Biomedical Research, and Bioeconomy
🚀 Quantum Technology
On April 12, 2024, the Alliance opens its first round of #funding for two different #grants. The grant program is open to all researchers from Bavarian Universities and Universities of Applied Science in collaboration with researchers from Universities in Queensland:
➡ Seed Grants of up to €10,000 over a period of 12 months will be available. The emphasis here is on supporting travel for Bavarian researchers to Queensland to facilitate the establishment of long-term collaborations. The deadline for Seed Funding applications is May 10, 2024.
➡ Development Grants of up to €80,000 for 24 months. This program focuses on practice-oriented research that supports the development of innovative research in Bavaria and Queensland. Development Grants applications must be submitted by July 10, 2024.
The grant program will be coordinated by the newly established Bavaria-Australia Coordination Unit at the University of Bayreuth. More Information on the funding programs and for applications: https://lnkd.in/ddWWw46g
